I had two of the original Xbox adapter and lost one during a move. I don't think they make them any more, so I bought this to replace it and the adapter sizing is just a little off... When I connect it to my controller, it naturally stops just before it properly connects. You can push it in a little further with some force and it'll "pop" into place, but it tends to slip out of place and disconnect really easily. The feature I like are the sound mixer mode, mute toggle function, and volume buttons. The sound mixer mode lets you simultaneous raise and lower the game and chat audios inversely so you can set the volume so you can hear other people over the game audio. I did not need this for my aux mic, but it was an improvement over the flip switch mute and volume dial on my mic. The sound mixer buttons made this device worthwhile. The features or lack of that I did not like are no mic monitoring and no dedicated push-to-talk. I would have also liked to see a mic built in like the ps5 controller has. Mic monitoring does not work when the aux mic is passed through this device. In the Xbox sounds menu the mic monitoring feature becomes greyed out. Mic monitoring means you are able to hear yourself through your own headphones as it can impart a strange sensation when you’re talking and you can hear yourself; you tend to talk louder. This product also came with no instructions so I had no idea how to use the sound mixer mode until I looked on the Xbox support website. Bottom line: I would recommend this product if you need a quick mute and sound/voice mixer. Read more
