This little jewelry box has a lot going for it: it's got a good weight, a nice velvet lining, and whimsical gold accents that pop on the pearlescent resin. This is not a very large box, it won't hold all your jewelry. But it would be nice to keep a few sentimental pieces in, or as a beautiful box to hold a precious gift for someone. And any child would be delighted to have such a pretty princess-like box. I did have a few qualms, including the shipping box, which came very beat up. The jewelry box only had a thin layer of bubble wrap protecting it. Another thing I noticed was that the lid didn't sit perfectly flush with the box. Lastly, the resin ended up covering some of the golden details, especially at the border of the designs. This was fairly minor and only noticeable if you were looking closely. I can’t say how fragile the KiteStar Heart Shape Jewelry Box is, but it has some weight to it and I would handle with care. The design is definitely over-the-top, but I think that’s what you’d expect ordering something like this. I love the rich design…makes me think it’s older than it really is. There are Little silver feet, the rose red is vibrant and shiny, and the inside velvet is soft and luxurious. Inside I could fit a smedium pair of earrings, a few rings, and a médium necklace easily. I would totally give this as a gift, to anyone over 35 though, or to someone much younger so that it could use it for princess play pretend. That’s what this invokes to me. But I fell instantly in love with this little heart box. Here's why: 1. It's heavy, well-made metal. Which means it won't fall apart and end up in the dumpster anytime soon. 2. Red and turquoise with offsets of yellow ... well, gold instead of yellow...but close enough! 3. The deep red velvet lining .... To die for! Just brilliant. Soft. Enigmatic.
