Really wished it worked. The item heated up a little bit but the light never came on. FYI - I contacted the company to see if distilled water could be used. They said both tap and distilled are acceptable. Update: Before starting a return with Amazon, I contacted the company directly. They said they would send me a new steamer but didn’t provide any specifics. I finally received it and it works fine. Not overly impressed with it. Advertising makes it seem that it just blows off dirt and grime, it doesn’t. You need to stand real close to the site to even make a dent. I did take the reviews seriously. I do regret the decision to buy. Read more
This arrived the very next day after ordered. The directions are simple and complete. I used it immediately after arrival to steam clean and remove stains around the drain on two sinks. Wow, it removed the stains quickly with no effort on my part. Then I used it in my stall shower to remove soap scum from the glass. Worked like a charm, although I had to rinse the surfaces to make sure the scum went down the drain. It made easy work in the one area I had a build up by the door. Not sure why this steamer had all 5 star reviews at the time of purchase, but this steamer was not effective for me. It did not work like other reviewers claimed. Easy to attach the necessary accessory and steam came out well and why I gave it 2 stars. The steam did give off a smell so if you have windows you might need to open the windows for ventilation. However, the steam did nothing to breakup the months of buildup for the white bathtub/shower combo. I even held it in one spot for more than a minute and the steam did nothing. I got this steamer bc of a bad back to prevent bending over to scrub and because of the positive reviews, but I see now that the reviews were all fluff. Steam is not as "high power" as I expected since the steam didn't even move the buildup. The accessory with the hose was used and it did get hot from the steam but not too hot that you couldn't hold it with bare hands. So it was tolerable to hold while trying to clean. Anyway, I had to eventually go to Walmart and buy CLR. I sprayed the CLR and let it set for 20 minutes and decided to use the steamer to see if it would work after I sprayed the CLR. Still nothing. So I had to go old school and used the scrubber..and violá! It was like magic. It was like a brand new tub. Paid almost $70 for this piece of junk of a steamer, which I believed was used bc some of the accessories were unwrapped and just thrown in the box but the steamer itself was wrapped in plastic. Despite paying $70 for this steamer to avoid using chemicals and bending over to scrub, I still had to use a chemical cleaner and still had to bend over to scrub. The irony of it all! Not worth the money. Will look for another one that has more juice than this one. Got my refund and keeping the CLR. I will have to just endure the back pain until I find a better steamer option.
