Cannot beat price for pull up bar. Probably 20%+ cheaper than next available option. Materials feel strong and sturdy. I'm 185 lbs and it doesn't flex at all when I'm using it. Not sure if I would trust it to support 350 lb max as specified in the product details however. Definitely would not trust the front handle additions for pull ups for someone that weight since both grips are only secured with a single bolt!! While having the flexibility to lower the bar further is useful, I use it at the most compact position so there is a possibility that there could be some flex if it were at it's maximum extension. I think most homes won't have 10' tall ceilings to take advantage of that extension option. The ability of attaching a striking bag to the center of the bar would allow additional training function beyond pull ups. Other reviewers have noted that the distance between the two support brackets does not match standard joist distances (16" on center) and there's a little more work and materials required to install in your garage. It's more like 19'-20" inches so if you're installing inside your garage you will need to mount the unit onto an additional piece of wood that's around 20"+ in width and then secure that piece of wood onto your ceiling joists. The included hardware appears to be sleeves and bolts for installation into a concrete ceiling and probably would be useless for 90% of us wanting to use it in your home. But despite this slight inconvenience I'm still glad to have taken a chance on this product. Read more
These adjustable pull-up bars are just what we needed. The mounting brackets that come fit are need for cement, not wood so you will need to go buy some heavy duty screws in order to be able to get this into wood. Other than that, the actual product itself is great. I'm super happy I went with these. Read more
Solid design and quality. Really loving this thing. Took a bit to install, but that was expected. If you're going to purchase it make sure you hang it from the joists of your ceiling or basement or else you're 100% going to cause damage to your home. I spent an additional $25-$30 at Home Depot to purchase a 34in/12in board that would cover the space of 3 joists in my basement, and then hooked the pull up bar to it. You'll need some extra screws and flat washers, but it's worth it. Also the screws/bolts that it comes with I'm confident are meant for cement ceilings and I would NOT recommend using them on the wooden joists of your basement ceiling, because, again, you could end up causing unnecessary damage to your home, so just go to a hardware store and purchase 6 new 5/16 bolts for wood - you'll be glad you did. I would love to try this product, but am unable to hang it safely. The mounts are built in such a way that you are unable to place it safely using the studs in a home. There are two poles to install, each with 3 holes. You can either anchor 2 holes into your stud, or just one because of the spacing of the three predrilled holes used to mount the unit to the ceiling, making the product unsafe and actually impossible to use. In fact, with the bolts that are included with the product, the entire unit completely fell out of the ceiling while testing it prior to use. I'm trying to use seperately purchased anchor screws instead. But still, because of the spacing of the mount's predrilled holes, I'll only be able to anchor 2 out of the 3 holes. I'm really not sure how to make this product usable. Read more
