I typically wear a large but based on reviews I sized up to an XL and that was the right move because I don't think the waist would've fit comfortably on the large. There is stretch to the waistband, but overall the waist size seems smaller or not proportional to the hip measurement, so go with the waist measurement when you look at the size guide. The pants themselves are very nice and warm, and the fabric is kind of like a dense, low-nap fleece. I did not like the color: I wanted a more camel color or warmer beige tone and these are lighter and have a yellow undertone so they kind of looked like "flesh pants" against my skin coloring. The other problem is they are CRAZY long. I'm 5'4 and expected they might be 1-3 inches too long, but these were easily 5-6 inches too long. Since the material is so thick I couldn't even cuff them to get a sense of what they might look like if I had them hemmed. The front pleats are also too short, so they are not flattering on an apple-shaped body type because they accentuate the section you would most want to soften: right around your stomach. These pants are perfect for dress or the office. They are very well made, are sift, and feel great. The colors match the online photo. They are too long though. Size charts are inaccurate. The pants are about 6” too long for my 5’2” frame. Update: These pants are everything I previously said; however, they also pill very badly. They look old after they’ve been worn just a few times. They are very warm, so I will wear them in cold cold weather, but not when it matters what my pants look like. I would not recommend them for when you want to dress up. Read more

This is the first pair of slacks I found that is cut really well (for me), i.e. the slacks come up to the natural waist, and the back is cut high enough not to pull down when you sit. They look and wear best with a belt (because of the elastic in the back), but they are a little longer than I expected (the model in the online photo must be 5'9"), so wearing shoes or ankle boots with a little heel would work best. I am 5'7", 125 lbs, ordered the Medium, and the pant legs go down to my shoes. The fabric (with its wool content) is very soft and very warm. Great for colder weather. Read more
