I recently purchased these yoga mats. They are very nice and thick, which makes them comfortable to use. They are also easy to use, which makes them a great value for the price. Read more

This Hello Fit 1/2 inch mat is called an exercise mat, but it works for yoga. It's much thicker than a normal yoga mat, and softer, so it provides more cushion. It's the same width and length as many available yoga mats. It provides enough grip for your feet. *Note*: If you have weak ankles or bad knees, this may not be the mat for you. It's so soft that it required some muscle movement in my ankles and knees to keep me balanced. I actually got this for my partner to use. The second one is for me, for use as a support during restorative yoga. Using it this way, all the cushion will be wonderful and I don't have to worry about balance. The mats come with carrying straps. These are made from elastic bands rather than cotton webbing, so they won't last as long as straps that do not stretch. However, the mat is very light to carry, so the elastic straps hold the rolled mat in place. See photos. Read more

Both my daughter and I are using these mats (the advantage of a 2 pack) and, well, they do their job. My workout is typically floor-centric so there is a significant difference between a carpet floor and this mat. Nice thick pad that keeps my elbows from grinding down and long enough for me not to exceed the length even when I'm not paying attention. It rolls up really quickly and fits into the carrying strap easily. I store it in my long ottoman. The carrying strap isn't anything special - the elastic might be a little spongy but I don't need much except to keep it contained. That might be something to consider if you will be "traveling" with it. Because of the thickness of the mat, I don't really consider it a "travel" mat. Obviously, you can but because it's bigger and the strap isn't overly hefty, I probably would want something smaller and with a true carrying bag. But, for us, they are working very nicely. Read more
Choosing the right exercise/yoga mat is very specific to each individual's needs. This is a nice long mat at 72 inches long and 24” wide. I acquired it to use for yoga and for other exercises that need to be done on the floor, such as some of my physical therapy exercises. This mat is considered an extra-thick mat, as it measures ½ inch (12.7 millimeters) in thickness. The extra thickness does make me less stable when doing standing yoga positions, but a thicker mat is gentler on my joints – so it is a trade-off I accept. This mat has a good grip on most surfaces, although I felt some slipping on a smooth vinyl floor = I then turned the mat over so that the ribbed side of the mat was touching the floor and that solved the problem. When working out with bare feet I felt very little slipping between my feet and the topside of the mat. I tested the mat for absorbency (I don't sweat much) by pouring water on it – it beaded on the mat and was easy to wipe up and the mat felt dry; but the mat was somewhat slippery when there was water/sweat on it. The mats are lightweight and come with an elastic strap which makes transport easy. Read more
