Bought this for waterproof ability and the length. Finally a raincoat that is 100% waterproof! I spent hours in pouring rain walking around Scotland and this thing kept me completely dry. I like the pocket layout and I actually like how it looks too. It’s more brown than green. I was concerned it might cause me to sweat a lot because of the material but that wasn’t the case. The coat keeps me dry and warm without that plastic sweat-suit feel. It also has vents. I went with a medium and I usually were a large. Ended up being the correct move. I'm loving this raincoat! I'm 5'8" , 165 lbs. and I got the medium. It's a perfect fit, with enough room for a fairly puffy down vest underneath if I need it. The length is good and could even be a couple of inches longer, but fits fine and looks great. The quality is so much better than those thin, cheaper rain suits. It's on par with the yellow raincoat I had as a kid, and should last many years. The hood is great, with a drawstring to tighten against the wind. The hood also has a small one-inch brim that helps shed the rain nicely away from the face. Overall, I'm quite happy and would definitely recommend this raincoat. I bought this for my husband.. and apparently "Parker" in California (I'm in Kentucky). I again purchased this for my husband for his birthday. It was delivered to some guy in California and I'm in Kentucky. I do not blame the company as the customer service was spot on when I had to contact them to tell them what happened. They responded quickly and remedied it just as fast. They resent it immediately. My husband is 5'10" and 235lbs and the XL was too big so we had to send it back for a large. They were quick and kept in perfect communication. The quality of this coat is great. My husband, and I'm not joking because he is a dork, can't wait for it to rain to try it out (and it's rained a lot). He loves it because the material is thick and durable. The large fit him perfectly. The XL had too much material and baggie. The arms were too long and he did not like how it fit because of that.1 Welcome to my 5 foot world. This rain coat is definitely better than most I've seen. It's nice to have one that covers below the waist quite a bit. I'll have to agree with others about the color. It is definitely more brown than the picture shows. So far it is rain-proof. The seams appear to be sewn adequately. The hood covers your head well. As far as sizing, unless you want to be able to wear it over a heavy coat in the winter as I did, definitely order down a size. I can't attest to the durability yet. I thought it to be a little pricey for what it is but compared to the cheaper ones it's definitely a lot better as stated earlier. Read more
The media could not be loaded. Love this affordable knee length raincoat. Internal not too plastic feeling. External soft plastic repellent. Plenty of pockets. Wish they made more colors and would have gotten more. Perfect to throw on over Christmas sweater. Wear an XL T-shirt got a L raincoat. Read more
This is an industrial strength raincoat. Most other raincoats on this site looked thin and "packable". This one is thicker, generously sized, but not oversized. It has a ventilation flap in the upper back, like some trench coats, but the coat is still a bit clammy. It is good for non-aerobic activity in really wet environments. It would work well if you wore quick drying polypropylene or polyester fleece under it. I have no complaints, really, just be aware that waterproof fabric that will not "wet through" (including Gore-tex and other breathable membranes) inherently has limited breathability. Read more
I learned from Alaskan friends about Helly Hensen years ago. "you will need a rain coat and the only brand to get is H & H. This is my second coat the first one I wore out, it took a long time. What is great about this exact coat: Impertech Waterproof is that it is made with Polyurethane. That makes a serious raincoat not so heavy and it is much more breathable. They make other raincoats so you need to look for those marked Polyurethane. As far as I can tell they do not make this long coat in a women size which is too bad. I wear a mans L, a bit narrow in the hips and long on the arms but I don't care - I stay comfortable, dry and warm while fishing for walleye on Lake of the Woods, USA. Read more
This is the only raincoat to buy. I'm in the PNW, I use this for railroad work. 12 hours in a downpour and I'm dry. Like the length so I just wear gaiters instead of full on rain pants. Pockets are the failpoint, Velcro stitching coming undone right off the bat but maybe just got a reject. Big hood you can sinch down if it's windy. I'm 5'5" and a M goes to about just above my knees and is big enough around to wear a thick Carhartt hoodie underneath for winter. Feels light but works heavy duty. Zipper goes both ways (from top and bottom) so when you crouch you won't tear it out. Read more
