Helly Hansen Womens Long Belfast Jacket

I love love love this raincoat. I was in Europe for 30 days over the summer and my Helly Hansen raincoat saved me from getting drenched a couple of times. It is lightweight, nicely hooded, water resistant, and stylish. I love the length, the great zipper, and the tailored look of this windproof rain proof beautiful coat! It has all of the attributes I wanted and is also very attractive. The only thing to be aware of is that it does run small so if you wear a medium, get a large, etc. Someone else had also commented about this as well. Read more

This is a great coat. It is fun, bright and sporty. I have been looking for a completely waterproof coat for a long time-and I love this. I am 5'3, and I worried that it would be too long, or that the nice "shaped" fit would be wrong on someone my height. But it's perfect. It's very flattering, and comes to just above my knees, which is great for rain protection- my pants stay nice and dry! I am about 155 lbs and take a size 8-10, so I got the large. My mid-section is where I carry my weight, and I feared the coat would be fine in the shoulders, but too snug around the waist, as "athletic" type coats often are. Not to worry-it fit beautifully. I can wear a hoody underneath, but it's comfortable with just a t-shirt, too. The pockets are lined with a soft jersey material, and the same material is on the collar, which feels really nice when it's clammy and raining. The zippers on the pockets and the coat itself are plastic, but they are heavy and strong, and zip very smoothly. The hood is a little big and cumbersome, but is fine if you zip the coat up to the top-I think it is designed to be worn that way. I wore this coat last week to my dog training class-there was a woman there who works with rescue dogs, and coincidentally she had the EXACT same coat-same colour and everything (I got the grey and pink). She said she has had hers for a year and wears it all the time walking the dogs. She said it has never leaked, and I can attest that it looked JUST like mine, as in, brand new and not worn at all! I bought this very brand and style 8 yrs ago at a boat show and wore it every winter after that. I’ve washed it hundreds of times and the lining began to wear out and I gained several pounds of Covid weight. I ordered this exact same coat again at $50 over my 8 yr ago coat price and it is WORTH EVERY PENNY! Great fit, comfortable, waterproof, breathes a little, three zipper pockets, front zips from top down from bottom up. I would have given this five stars except for a problem I had with returning the first purchase. (Not Amazon's fault -- they are good with returns; there's no charge and refunds are swift.) When I bought the next size larger (which was still too small), the coat was the same on the outside but was lined and puffy inside, which is not what I wanted. (I wanted something for the majority of rainy days in Portland, OR, that are not cold.) The third try was perfect, but it's confusing that there are essentially two different coats being sold under the same title ("Helly Hansen Womens Long Belfast Jacket"). The only difference I could find in the descriptions, after studying them, is that the too-warm coat has a "2-PLY" lining, while the coat I wanted has a mesh lining. I wanted a 3/4 length raincoat and this one fits the bill. I am 5’4” and 145 #. The large is a good fit with enough roominess that I will be able to wear a sweatshirt underneath as the weather turns cooler. The sleeves come just past my wrists and can be snugged tighter with a Velcro tab. The coat falls to about 2” above my knee. It has a two-way zipper which is necessary in a coat this long. The two hand pockets are roomy. Although the exterior chest pocket zipper is a bit short I was still able to easily put an iPhone 11 in the pocket. The coat has a nylon and mesh lining. Sought out a new raincoat for soggy weather dog walking. Most coats are similiar...chose this one for the fit and fashionable stripe effect of the blue and white. True to size, good quality, nice pockets with soft lining, hood not too big and has toggles to snug down, sheds water. Perfect for the price. Read more

This is my second one. First one bought in 2017. Lasted thru 2024 when the waterproof lining crumbled. Was so glad to find it still available. Keeps you dry. Keeps the wind out.
