This is a great set; all the knives I use on a daily basis and they’re Henkels - made in Germany! I always make sure I can see where they’re made: Germany, Spain or Japan. No t made in China. Got my son set up with Henkels so now I’m treating myself! Warning though; they arrive razor sharp so handle with care. Read more

This review is for the 3-piece knife set. I could not locate a country of origin on the product. The blades say German steel, however, from my research, Henckel knives are made in various countries, including China, Thailand, India and Spain. I find it curious that a set that includes Lagasse’s name on it, doesn’t list where they are made. Henckels tend to be a more affordable brand versus the higher end Zwilling products. This 3-piece knife set has the classic look with steel blades with a brushed satin finish that are set in a basic black hard (I presume) plastic handles set into the steel shaft of the blade. This set includes a 4-inch slicing/paring knife, a 5-inch serrated blade knife, and an 8-inch chef’s chopping knife. The handles are comfortable to handle, but for this price I expected a bit better quality with the handles themselves. The hard plastic handles cheapen the overall look and feel of the knives themselves. The stainless-steel blades though are good quality, sturdy and sharp. The knives slice through anything I tried easily. The logos on the blades make these look fancy, but the logos appear to be printed on as opposed to stamped and I am not sure how long those logos will stay without fading or getting rubbed off. I am sure that is one of the compromises made with this level of blades. The knives themselves are fairly lightweight but balanced well and are easy to handle. These clean up easily by hand or in the dishwasher. Although the included documentation doesn’t say, Henckels indicates they have a lifetime warranty on their knife sets. Even with a couple shortcomings, these are good quality everyday use in the kitchen type knives that make for a good basic starter set.
