This device has a couple of good thing going for it. It has decent sound quality. It looks attractive as well. Now the bad news. This device is not worth the price. It cannot have Tidal and Spotify open at the same time, not both playing, not downloading anything to the device, just open. It literally will cause the last one to be opened to stutter. Tidal will just give up on trying to play. The device is so underpowered that running Spotify will heat up the device and drain the battery like I am trying to play Call of Duty on it. The touchscreen is laggy. It does not support fast charge. It does take 3 hours to charge to full. The case it comes with makes it difficult to use UI elements at the edge if the screen. Even worse you probably should not use the case because the device heats up. The SD Card functionality is weird. I already had a SD Card with my songs on it from the S8 mentioned in the title. I would not allow me to use it. It kept trying to reformat it. It has physical buttons, so you would think that is a good thing. The buttons were frustrating. If the device is locked, you will have a hard time getting the buttons to cooperate. I pressed the play/pause button. Nothing seemed to happen, so I pressed it again. The device played a snippet of the song then paused. So I pressed the button again, nothing. I waited 5 seconds for the G88 to realize I wanted to resume playing my song. If it hibernates it will turn itself off completely by default. So you have to press the power button, wait for it to realize you want to use it, and then wait for it to boot into Android. I tried to be patient about this. But the issues with the audio apps, the laggy touchscreen, the laggy physical buttons, the heat and battery drain, it was too much. I have returned the G88. It was a bad purchase. Read more

I received this and I am surprised. It is made decent, a nice aluminum frame with a solid feel to it. The back I think is glass, they have a protective film over it and the front has a screen protector already installed. It is a stripped down version of Android 12, not all the bells and whistles but most options are there. The first software issue I came across was Gestures, it is an option, but it will lock up and not work from time to time and you have to reboot to clear, so 3 button has to be active. You will aloo need to replace the built in launcher ASAP, I using Olauncher. After a couple of hours of use, the Software issues got worse, does not work with 3 button navigation as well. Going back. Sound quality is good, Bluetooth connectivity is ok, sleek design, storage is more than enough for Lossless songs, the only thing I don’t like much is sometimes it freezes for some reason, maybe my internet connection is bad. Its small screen is a pain for big fingers. Overall it is a good buy if you are getting into HiRes Lossless music. But you must have a good pair of headphones or earbuds. Read more

Looks great, feels great but major short comings. It feels weighty, premium. Visually impressive as well with a nice screen and running android to customize. ES9038Q2M dac chips sound good, not colored so no isses there. The volume wheel is a nice addition. But battery life is atrocious, getting 5-6 hours is a joke, we'll see if it improves without wifi etc. It has frozen up on me twice when opening up apps. Great potential but falls way short due to awful battery life. Get Hiby m300 instead Update about 2 months later: the battery life is better. I had to remove the custom (niagra) launcher and deleted a few usable apps that keep crashing the device. Now its working fine but still not my recommendation Read more

I did come across chrome crashing but it seem to fix it self. And the battery is very lackluster lol. Other than that its freaking amazing lil dude! Very modern, and nostalgic. Also, lets be fr, this is better than the phones,mp3, ipods we had in the early 2010's. Read more
