This device locates wifi signals so you can spot hidden cameras or wifi sources. I tested it around the house - it easily located my router. It was little harder to locate active phones, but it did work. I placed the device next to my sleeping laptop and it did not go off - as soon as I activated the laptop, the device started beeping so it does pick up active wifi signals. It is failry versatile - you can look for only 2.4 ghz signals or open up the range so it looks for anything between 1 and 6 ghz. You can also turn off the beeping sound if you want to just use the lights that light up the closer you get to the source. There is an infrared feature that is supposed to let you identify inactive cameras by seeing the lens - you turn on the red light and look through a filter on the device. I couldn't test this function with a hidden camera, but it seemed like it would be difficult to spot a lens looking through such a small filter. This device charges with the included USB cable. I do some traveling on my own. Mainly to drive from Jersey to NC to get my hair done. It's usually an overnight trip. And yes, I drive over 300 miles to get my hair done. My girl has been doing my hair for almost 20 years and she does a great job at 1/10th the price I would pay in Jersey. It's actually cheaper for me to drive down to get my hair done than it is to stay and get my hair done in my state. I worry about hidden camera's but whenever possible, I'll stay at a nice hotel rather than a shady motel. Even so, there could still be hidden camera's & traveling on my own, I can't be too careful. This hidden camera detector is something I didn't know I needed until it came onto my Amazon Vine feed. I was so excited to try it when it arrived. I played around with it going through my house and around my new vehicle. It actually picked up on the camera's and recording devices. (All of which I was aware of). I have a Cadillac that is equipped with a black box such as what airplanes have as well as camera's all around the vehicle. I can't say what exactly this detector picked up. It was either the black box or the camera's. It detected though. It also detected the camera's I have outside as well as the few I have inside. I want my husband to play around with it a little so he can show me how to use it. I don't have patience to read the pamphlet in full. It's slim and very lightweight so I can put it in my purse, my suitcase, overnight bag or even my pocket. It's easy to charge. I don't have to worry about batteries. I can just charge it and it stays charged for a long time. It's easy to use and a great tool, especially for those that travel by themselves. It brings me peace of mind knowing I have the tools in order to detect hidden camera's, wifi or recording devices. It seems to work well but like I said, I'm going to have the hubs play with it and show me how to work it. I'm pretty happy with this cool little gadget. Definitely recommend. Read more

I'm sure it works, but I'm not sure how well it works. It definitely picks up frequencies but it's not clear how well and there is no display to tell what the frequency is which is picked up so it's a bit of a guess. The idea is sound but the execution leaves a bit to be desired. Read more

As someone who travels often for work and occasionally stays in Airbnbs, I bought the WLYSZCN 2025 Hidden Camera Detector for a bit of peace of mind. It's small—about the size of a thick pen—and very lightweight, making it easy to pack in any bag. My first test was in a hotel room in Miami. I turned off the lights and used the infrared mode to scan for hidden lenses. It actually worked—I spotted the reflection from a phone camera I had hidden myself. That gave me some initial confidence. But in later tests during the day, I looked directly at a visible webcam and got no alert. I’m guessing the lens detection feature only really works well in low-light or dark conditions, which is something to keep in mind. The RF signal scanner is functional, but this is where the device shows its limitations. It picks up signals, sure—but it can’t tell you what kind of device is transmitting. Is it Wi-Fi? A Bluetooth speaker? A hidden GPS tracker? You’re left guessing. A basic LCD display showing signal type or frequency would make a huge difference in usability.
