As a single woman who travels quite a bit and is often by myself, having a portable alarm to protect myself or call for help is great. This thing is *tiny*, only 2" square, but it makes a loud obnoxious noise! That's exactly what I wanted. It has a charging cord and small strap with it, as well as a very thin strap already hooked in. I'm going to put it in a little pouch I have so I can just keep it in my purse and accessible any time I feel I need to use it. I like the different modes of triggering the alarm - light, distance from the device, etc., plus an SOS button so I can carry it in my hand when I'm walking in a place that makes me uncomfortable like a parking lot at night. It can also be used as a flashlight, which will help if I need to put a key in a lock and there's no light, or if there's uneven ground, etc. I think I'll be getting several of these to give at Christmas this year - for boys, girls, men, and women. This alarm by SITEEDAN fits in the palm of your hand and is a little powerhouse. Its size is not-quite 2-inch (height) x 1.7-inch (width) x 1.25-inch (depth). The product description boasts that its alarm is 130 dB, and I can confirm that it is extremely loud. It's what you want a security alarm to be: loud and scary sounding. Honestly, it's likely to frighten everyone away, as well as to send notice to others nearby to be on alert that something bad is happening. It really, really gets your attention. However, because it is so loud, there are some things to know in advance: - If you have sensitive hearing, this alarm might be just a tad too loud for you, especially because it's nearly impossible to avoid accidentally triggering the alarm. This is primarily because the Mode select button is right next to the SOS button (which triggers the alarm *immediately* whenever the device is switched ON). Both buttons are TINY. You have to really pay attention to where you are pressing to avoid triggering the alarm. The design has not been thought out well as far as the user's experience. This point and the next are the main reasons for the 3 star rating. - I realized when I was testing the Passive Infrared, Light-Sensing, and Vibration Alarms that once the alarms were set and in place, I could not easily turn off the alarm without first triggering the alarm. That's a bit annoying. And my ears are unfortunately still ringing. (I'd suggest wearing ear plugs.) - There's no battery power indicator to alert you when it might be getting low. So if you're using it for security purposes, you'll need to charge it frequently so it won't run out of juice on you. This is a serious flaw for a safety device. Other things to know about the alarm is that it has a permanent clip on its back, and it comes with a hand strap, a charging cable, two velcro straps (one longer, one shorter), and an instruction booklet. The alarm is light but seems pretty durable. Note that it is not water resistant. At this price, I expected a better product design to help prevent accidentally triggering the alarm while trying to do basic tasks. Read more
This SITEEDAN smart alarm is very functional, it has a clip so you can clip it to your pocket or shirt, it has several settings like motion detection which will set the alarm off, you can connect it bluetooth incase you loose it. This little alarm works great! It's SUPER loud and will wake anyone around and probably scare the daylights out of them. The motion sensor works good and will definitely let you know if someone invade your space. It's easy to use and pair via Bluetooth, has a waring light and also vibrates.
