My other hidden cameras have to be plugged into an outlet which limits their placement. This camera changes all of that and can run off the battery allowing endless placement options. Can be handy for traveling and setting it up in your hotel room or pretty much anywhere, even when there isn't WiFi where you can record to an SD card for viewing later. I have other cameras that run off the HomeEye app, so setting this one up was a breeze. The motion detection is really good, even picking up small movements. The app allows you to make lots of modifications to fit your needs and what notifications you receive. The video is high quality and the night vision is better than most. As a bonus it can also be used to charge your phone. I would recommend to others that are looking for a hidden, discrete camera that can be setup anywhere and could use another battery pack for charging your phone when the power is out. Read more

I’ve tried a few different security cameras, and the HiSpyCam is definitely one of the easier ones to get running. The "plug-and-play" claim is actually true, I had it synced to the app in under five minutes on my phone. What I really like is the 1080P quality; it's solid enough to clearly see faces across the room even when the lighting isn't great, and the night vision is surprisingly crisp. The motion detection is also pretty sensitive, which is a plus for me. I get the alerts on my phone almost instantly when it picks up movement. A huge safety net for me is that it still records to the SD card even if the WiFi flubs out. I’m currently using a 128GB card with it, and it handles the local storage perfectly without needing to pay for a cloud subscription. In a normal room setting, no one would suspect it’s anything other than a portable charger. The video feed is sharp enough to recognize faces across a 15-foot room. What surprised me most was the "Strong Night Vision"—the infrared LEDs are truly invisible to the naked eye (940nm), so there’s no tell-tale red glow in the dark. The image remains clear in black and white even in total darkness. Setup was straightforward, but remember it only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. If your router is set to 5GHz only, you will struggle to connect. Once synced, the live feed was stable. The motion detection alerts are sensitive; I recommend setting them to "medium" to avoid notifications from shadows or light changes.
