This is for the gold dragon version. First off, this thing is big and it has some weight to it. This gives it a quality feel and for some it might make it more awkward to use. I think of this as a functional discussion piece, something you would leave out in the bathroom because it just looks like something cool that John Wick would have. As a shaver it works great, gives a skin close shave, it does well on the Adam's apple which is usually a tough spot for electric razors. I like that it has an LCD battery gauge that helps you know when to charge. I always mention that these foil shavers are the next best thing to a real razor, real razors are the closest, the rotary head shavers are the least close, foil shavers are in the middle as close as you can get to a real razor. If you have curly hair these might not be best for you as the hair has to enter the tiny pinholes, curly hair is better suited to rotary shavers because they have slots. These foil shavers work best on stubble or short growth, if you have a few days worth of hair growth you might need to trim or do a regular shave first. Foil shavers work best if you use them daily or every other day. This is no fault of the product, it's just how foil shavers are. Always use the cap when not in use because foil shavers have a delicate foil screen. You may want to see what the availability of extra screens is like since eventually you will need one. I wish it had a travel lock so you don't accidentally turn it on in your bag. It also states in the manual it's not waterproof but realistically you use these dry so that's not an issue. Very nice looking piece, probably not for everyone but for someone looking for something with some flair that makes a statement, versus a plain black razor, this is great. Read more

The design of this shaver looks very fashionable. The machine runs smoothly, with low noise. The blades are sharp so they don't hurt the skin when shaving. The dual foil help shave more cleanly. I like compact design, it fits my hand well. It is easy to clean, just press the button on the side to remove the blades and soak them in water. The Hiena Pro Professional Foil Men's Shaver is an impressive piece of shaving equipment, with a beautiful Japanese patterned alloy case and an effective gold foil. The shaver charged in about an hour to full capacity, and, upon turning it on, hummed quietly. Shave quality was good on two-day beard growth on a washed face. A pre-shave balm or solution might have made the shave a little more comfortable, however, there was absolutely no catching or pulling. The foil provided a tight and comfortable shave with very little heating. The shaver comes with a cleaning brush and a charging cable, making this the perfect companion for my toiletry kit when traveling. I could see myself using this shaver when needing a quick shave before a business meeting in the afternoon. If there is anything I would improve on this shaver it would be a pop-up trimmer for edging sideburns and a travel case. These are not reasons to remove a star. Overall, I am very impressed with this electric shaver. Technology has come a long way over the past few decades, and not having to tote AA batteries or have a shaver fail while traveling is a beautiful thing. For under $30, the Hiena Professional Foil Shaver is an excellent value and would make a beautiful gift. There is nothing cheap about the build or design, and I will be enjoying this shaver for years to come. A "must buy" recommendation for the quality and excellent comfort in shaving. Read more
