Caught early as soon as a few lil ichs appeared on my new fish . Cured In 2 days without raising water temp and used with prime water conditioner with no issues at all even though it says not to. For Seachem fans and everyone else: Yes, SeaChem Prime IS an excellent product and does everything it says it does. I used it for years. Indeed, I'm a Seachem fan too and after I'm finished writing this, I'm buying some Seachem Matrix carbon here in Amazon. BUT, the Ultimate Conditioner IS BETTER. Whichever way it does it (I'm not a chemistry major), it is more efficient than Prime at doing the same jobs in the aquarium. I've noticed the difference by using Prime with my fish and then noticing the huge difference in the fish when I changed to the Ultimate Conditioner. Everything is better: their activity level, energy, health, a lot less disease problems (I'm a careful water tester, care taker, etc.) and the general happy, perky, funny mood my fish keep showing. I have been using tap water for years with all my tanks and always used prime. My tap water in my town is cleaned with ammonia which is deadly to fish. After using prime for years, my water was so acidic that it barely showed up on the api master test kit at less than 6.0ph. I had to buffer the water with crushed coral for years and couldn't figure it out. I was recommended by a fish store to try ultamate and I finally did. All problems that lasted for years are gone. I prepare the water in buckets atleat 2 days before I use it as a precaution. For a 5 gallon bucket I use about 3ml to treat the water and it even keeps the ph up to 7.0 now. No need for crushed coral. Just to know with this product it will give you a false POSITIVE for AMMONIA for a few days so don't worry. I am very happy I found this product and I will never use anything else again. I have had this bottle for a year now treating atleat 50 gallons a month and I still have more than 3/4 of a bottle.
