Great Product. Does exactly as stated.
I bought this product in the hopes of removing the high ammonia in our tap water. I tested the water for ammonia after adding this liquid to it and ammonia did not read on the test. WOOHOO! It seemed to actually remove the ammonia, (too good to be true?)... but then where did it go? My guess is that it's instantly converted to nitrite, then quickly to nitrate; which isn't ideal because I bought the product in hopes of reducing the high nitrates in my pond. After using this product on the tap water there where no reading whatsoever of ammonia, nitrite or nitrate in the tap, but when added to the pond with a 30% water change the nitrates still went up after the new water cycled through the pond a few times. I still gave it 5 stars because it does what it claims to do (miraculously) but the "removed" ammonia still seems to make it into nitrate eventually. So the ammonia isn't actually totally gone...it's very confusing how this all is possible and how it works. It is definitely a great product to make chlorine, ammonia, nitrites and chloramines safe for your fish, but your filter will still treat the nutrients as if they were still available in the water. PROS: Does what it claims to do, better than any other comparable product on the market. Other products will still read positive for ammonia that is binded, this product reads 0. CON: It is really thick liquid and isn't really concentrated enough to use for water changed in large ponds for the price it is. It is very expensive. Read more
