Worked quickly for parasites

Noticed as a couple of my neocaridina shrimp were very active going around the tank, that one had some white specks on her. As I had just gotten the book, The Neocaridina Shrimp Handbook, by Richard James, I was so glad he wrote about & pictured what appeared to be the same white parasite. He recommended Hikari PraziPro to rid them of it. He said the parasite itself does not kill the shrimp, but the stress of it can kill them. Was first aware of it 2 nights ago. It was delivered by Amazon yesterday & with the tank treated, they are grazing, relaxed & happy, today. So happy with the product. Read more

Worked and was safe

Worked like a charm. I lost a royal gramma before I noticed my blenny flashing all over the place, hiding in weird places, and just outright not eating. I used this to treat for flukes I suspected them of having and about 3 or 4 days in my blenny came out of hiding looking for some food I put in to munch on. My fish are all happy and healthy now along with my conch, snails, shrimp, and hermit crabs. Im happy it was safe for all my little pals and would recommend as a safe treatment. Read more

miracle!

This stuff is a miracle in a bottle! I had a tentative diagnosis for my fish after talking with AI about his symptoms: flashing, sitting on the bottom of the tank, loss of color, fast breathing... AI said likely gill flukes. My fish sat on the bottom of his tank for 2 days, barely alive, while this stuff was being shipped. I was sure he was going to die. I thought he for sure was too far gone. This arrived, I dosed my tank. I'm not exaggerating at all- within FIVE minutes of dosing, this fish that was previously half dead, gray, sitting on the bottom of the tank was swimming... for the first time in 2 days! Now, 40 minutes later, he's swimming better and more normally and only taking small rest breaks. Yes, my fish is still gray and still visibly ill (it's been 40 minutes, of course he is!) but, for the first time in days I finally have hope for him. I was surprised how fast this brought relief. Fingers crossed that he continues to improve and regain color and strength. I can not recommend this product enough. Every goldfish owner should have this on hand! Read more

Amazing results!

I have a 4 yr old female black convict cichlid that started hiding in corner, staying on the bottom and not swimming around except to eat a small amt. She wasn't feisty and interacting with us, so I started looking for something to try because I thought I was going to lose her. I saw this and it sounded easy to dose, well let me tell you, it's worth EVERY cent! Our girl started coming out a little more everyday and it's been about 4 days and she is interacting with us again and swimming around! I will be doing the regular water changes tomorrow and I will dose her again just to make sure everything is taken care of. I figured she was worth trying to find something to help her and this product did not disappoint! Read more

Effective Product but Questionable Size to Price Ratio

The media could not be loaded. This parasite treatment works well and lasts about 3 days, expect plenty of foaming and bubbles during this time. I had many of my cichlids flashing on decorations plus lethargy so I had to do something fast. This worked quick and they do not appear to be flashing anymore, I would recommend if you are in a similar situation. The color is a pink and the consistency is similar to a syrup. I would recommend if you have flashing issues with fish or need to treat parasites but the size to value ratio is not great here. This was 16.60USD$ dollars for a small 4oz bottle and I think that is not enough given the price despite its effectiveness, I would suggest waiting for a sale and buying it for future use. The 4oz. Would most likely only last 5 uses at most for higher gallon tanks so I would keep the recommended use amount in mind. Overall, great product but a price that could be better. Read more

Truly AMAZING!

The backdrop: I recently bought juvenile cichlids from a pet store so I quarantined them for a week treating them with salt and paraguard. During the 7 day treatment I noticed some of them still had stringy white poop. 1st sign. 1 fish did an occasional flash/ rub against the bare floor and that was the 2nd sign. 3rd sign was the clamped bottom fins. Anyway, after the 7 days I decided to move them to the display tank (amateur move) assuming paraguard would have knocked out pretty much everything. WRONG. Few days in the new tank, perfect water parameters, the fish were still mostly hiding and lethargic. Most would still eat but 1 barely touched food or even schooled with the rest. Then I saw that same fish flashing/rubbing again. This is when I knew it had to be an internal parasite since there were no signs of ick. Flukes are a common problem with new cichlids. I did some research and AI led me to PraziPro. The treatment: I did a 25% water change while vacuuming the substrate a little. Removed the carbon from the filter. Added the right amount lake salts and cichlid trace back in. Waited about an hr and then dosed the tank with prazipro. Just in a matter of a few hrs, that 1 most effected fish was schooling again, came out of hiding and was suddenly full of energy. They all were. It was an amazing sight. I sat in front of the aquarium for almost 45 minutes for observation. No flashing/rubbing, no aggression, just a little happy family. This is only day 1. I have to wait another 6 days and do another 25% water change then re-dose. Re-dosing is critical because you have to kill any new hatchlings that might have spawned since the 1st dose. The medicine is only effective for about 3 days before losing potency so waiting 6 days before re-dosing ensures you catch the eggs that hatched during the initial period and before they could lay more eggs. Recap: remove carbon, 25% water change, 1st dose, wait 6 days. Water change. 2nd dose, wait another 6 days followed by another water change and this time put the carbon back in to clean up any other remaining medicine. Read more
