The 1/18 Terranaut 8x8 is an incredibly well built, very technical RC. With 8 wheel drive and steering, this is a very capable crawler and trail truck, but the powerful winch with stainless cable adds a whole lot of neat fun. The FlySky 6 channel radio system is intuitive and very easy to use. Additionally, the Terranaut has a 2-speed transmission and both gear ratios are perfect. The low speed allows for amazing low speed control and modulation for technical crawling; the higher speed makes it fun on trails flatter surfaces with a very respectable level of speed and control. The 8 wheel steering makes it very versatile and fun, you can even crab walk the truck as well as excellent manuveabiliy in tight spaces making "scale recovery" of other vehicles a neat adventure. The Terranaut is an interesting RC truck, but the combination of capabilities, features and build quality make it a stand out value for under $300. Read more

Absolute beast for the size. Tires are small but scale and are of good quality. The driveline is well built for being partly plastic and having 4 steering servos. I have about 5 hours of use at time of review. Biggest issue is the proximity of the channel 4 (winch) button to your thumb. It’s easy to hit without realizing, and there is no safety stop. Suggest a different controller or re-map the all-steer channel to the winch. Rear steering would be better as a toggle anyway. Still has plenty of room for upgrades and mods while feeling fully capable stock. I do recommend installing the supplied anti-roll bars for additional crawling stability. Read more

It is really high quality and works great. It has a lot of power, really good battery life, and good steering.It is also super durable, we were jumping it and it took it with ease. The only thing is that when on horizontal angles it flips pretty easily. The winch also works great and the ramp are great for loading rc crawlers on it. I have a scx24 that fits perfectly on it. When we charged the batteries and plugged it in to the truck, all 6 wheels activated even when the transmitter was in the off position. Instruction booklet doesn’t tell us what the issue is. Can anyone explain? Read more
