I think this product is fine. Perhaps a bit pricey for what it is. It is a balm. It's not heavy. It moisturizes. Otherwise, there's not much to write home about and I probably wouldn't have bothered buying it if I had had the opportunity to try it first. Not bad, but not magic. Did not notice a scent. Admittedly, I was perhaps a bit grumpy when I wrote the above review, and I had only had the time to just test it once. I thought it was decent, but nothing to write home about. In retrospect, I am very sorry I did not get the chance to use it more, because I now know it was a really natural product. I live in a tropical country and I noticed a few years ago that when I have pure shea butter or cocoa butter, there are tiny ants all over the container trying to get in during the rainy season (which is now). This year, I found a local lady who makes fantastic skin products from locally-sourced, food grade natural oils (her facial scrub made with watermelon oil, coffee grounds, curcuma and sugar is to die for and I am tempted to eat it myself, but I digress) and I discovered that when the rainy season hit, the ants were all over the pots, so I have to carefully wipe all the product off the outside and make sure I screw the lids on tightly! I take it as a guarantee that the products are really healthy and natural, because the ants won't go near vaseline or any of the skincare products I buy from the supermarket or the drugstore, or even Chapstick or Labello. Sooooo, I got my balm yesterday and was about to try it again this morning, and I was like, "I thought this was a colourless product, why does it look like a bronzer?". I pulled it out and the whole surface of the balm was just covered in hungry ants. The packaging is not at all airtight (or even ant-tight). So now I am thinking that all those claims about natural ingredients that made me buy the balm in the first place were true, and I wish I had had a chance to use it. If it were in stores here, I might have tried it in the dry season, but I probably won't go to the trouble of ordering it and having it shipped again. Because the box doesn't close well, I had to just toss it in the trash. The ants are tiny and come out of nowhere; our houses are not at all airtight either, so you can't fight them. It's a shame. But I definitely confirm that this product is natural and contains few or no chemicals. West African ants don't like chemicals. Hope this helps! Read more
I really like this! The ingredients are safe and good for your skin and it definitely moisturizes. I know some people said it doesn't absorb into the skin and just feels waxy. However although it feels "waxy" a few hours after application, it doesn't leave any residue on your fingers if you wipe...meaning it absorbed into the skin. I use this on my lips and eyes before bed and I wake up with those areas so soft. I don't really use it as a highlight but you can't if you want a VERY minimal and natural look. Otherwise, I wouldn't use it as makeup. I think this product is more skincare rather than makeup anyway. I do think the compact is a bit difficult to open, and it does smell a bit like play dough. However I'd rather that than added fragrances. I am VERY happy with this purchase and the brand. Read more
I love this product! I will admit, I was a bit apprehensive. But I am so happy I purchased this beauty balm! It gives me a glossy highlight that powder highlights just cannot achieve. I have super dry skin so achieving the dewy fresh faced look has always been a challenge for me. This product changed the game. I use it on my cheek bones and also for my fly-aways. It keeps those suckers down and gives my hair a soft, healthy shein. When I wear hairspray my hair looks wet and crispy almost. I was nervous about putting it over a powder blush I wear, but it does not create a paste, it just sits beautifully. I have gotten so many compliments on my glow appearance. This product is ok... Smoothing and moisturizing. I used it on my lips and on my cuticles. It came in a tube like chapstick but thicker. I liked that the pictures show it comes in a small compact but that's not what I received. Not a huge deal but disappointing. Read more
