Lost a star as not something I really want to pocket-carry as it could go off. Would be perfect if the button could be covered. I had to push the gas tube closer to get proper ignition, and turn the gas nearly all the way. But this is common with these Chinese lighters these days. Once I did those adjustments no issues. However the plastic design, and past experience with cheap lighters, is that this will last anywhere from 2 months to 2 years. However at this price point, I'm happy to keep buying at $10.00. I've bough $100 lighters and they break in similar time periods. I have a Palio angled coming in the mail for the same price, so I'll see how it compares. Hard to find an angled, single jet, that actually ignites easily like this one and doesn't have flame issues. I'll update the review after a few months. I got this for cigars, hence the angle being important. I keep it as a home lighter. I would recommend keeping the packaging if you were going to pocket carry or take it anywhere. If it had a flip top cover would be great, but safety an issue with it (or at least a safety bar would be good). St. Dupont has $100 lighters that are still chinese made, and Xikar got bough out by china. So unless you are going to pay $500/$1000 something ridiculous you are going to deal with issues. So safest to just go through cheap lighters like this, and add to your order. I've tried practially everything out there from no-name, to zippo inserts, etc and they all suck. nice smooth ignition pull and unique design along with large tank for fuel. but it misfires often and only wants to ignite when flame is on a ver high setting. i am a collector of lighters and know the proper refueling practices and purging tank before refilling etc; its just one of those lighters that arent made for everyday use. more of a novelty which is a shame since the design of it is on point. maybe just a quality control thing and this was a lemon; but it is my experience with this lighter and maybe your luck is better; im very particular with expectations of lighters and this one missed the mark for me.
