Works great

This is the second Honeywell humidifier I've purchased. I found that I prefer the steam style humidifiers as I think they worked better. The first one I purchased, Honeywell HWM-705B HWM705B Filter Free Warm Moisture Humidifier, Black, was back in 2020 and it's still going strong. I have that one in a bedroom. I purchased the second Honeywell humidifier, Honeywell Easy-to-Care Filter Free Warm Mist Humidifier, Medium Rooms, 1.5 Gallon Tank – Humidistat for Bedroom, Home or Office Black, in early 2025 for a family room (so I've only had and used this one for 2 months) but I'm already impressed with it. It's maintaining the humidity level better then my previous cool air one, I'm using less water, it's so much easier to fill, there is no filter to change and I love that I can put some essential oil into the cup above the steam opening. I went by the suggestion and took the unit apart, which is really easy, after a month to clean it but found that the insides still looked like new. There was no scale or any build up. I do use Reverse Osmosis water in mine which has significantly less TDS (which is what cases most of the scale build-up). Overall I am very pleased with this humidifier and plan on getting another one. Some reviewers have mentioned a problem with the opening that feeds water into the area where the steam is produced. I have not encountered that issue nor have I had the unit show that it's on but no steam being produced (unless it's reached the set humidity level). Just to be clear, there is a light that will come on, just to the left of the power light, when the unit is on but not producing steam because it's reach the set humidity level. Once the humidity level drops and the unit kicks on to produce steam that light will go out to indicated the unit is once again producing steam. The only thing I wish it had was a lid to cover the opening where you fill the unit to help keep airborne dust/particles and possible pet hair, as I have a dog that sheds, out of the water. It's not enough to cause problems with the unit nor deter me using nor buying another unit. Just more of a case of nitpicking and suggesting a small improvement. Read more

Great Humdifier- Want A Numerical Humidistat Option

Love that this is a warm humidifier and it works great. Easy to fill with the top fill feature and it has been working well for a couple of months now. The only gripe I have is that I wish it had a numerical humidistat setting. For instance, I would like to be able to set it at 45% humidity and forget about it. Instead, it just has 5 levels that you choose from. I have a separate humidistat that I use to figure out what level correlates with what percentage humidity, but having one on the humidifier would make life a lot easier. Read more

Better than what most others complain about!!!

First off... I'll need to see about adding pictures to my review later. Hopefully I will be able to. This humidifier is exactly what I needed and will be purchasing another one for other rooms/areas. In addition to this new unit, I previously have a Honeywell Top Fill Tower Cool Mist Humidifier, 1.7 gal. I set the new unit next to the previous one, which has the sensor to display what the current humidity level is... and when drops below certain number will kick on... the beauty of that is it works less and more like a backup for when the new steam humidity unit stops due to out of water. Also, being winter, the steam unit helps keep the room warmer which is nice. Currently, so warm, that I turn on the ceiling fan. LOL Thermostat is set to 72-73, and the room is 78-79 degrees. My perfect comfort zone is 77-79 degrees. The folks that complain about the little tray on top for scented oils, are really nit picking. I think they failed to understand the concept of steam creates humidity and it will accumulate and drip off the underside. It is NOT blocking the steam from rising... as STEAM uses the PATH of least resistance!!! And any humidity drops that occur simply drop back down into the area where the heater boils the water and thus that dripped water transforms BACK into steam again!!! Rinse and repeat!!! The cover comes of easily with one hand. The funnel twists and comes out very easily. It does not unscrew, just twist counter clockwise lightly to unlock, and the tabs clear for lifting up. Simple... and returning the funnel is just as simple... line up the tabs... insert, and twice clockwise to lock. The housing part the funnel attaches to, has a red slide tab (spring loaded) to release the housing where the water gets heated and lifts up and out of the unit for easy access and cleaning around the heater dome. Add water, vinegar, let soak, then take your handy kitchen sink dish brush and scrub around to loosen up the scaling. Can even use an old toothbrush... works fine!!! All those others saying difficult to clean seem to have issues that I can't see. This could not be any more straight forward... Once done scrubbing, take the whole unit at your kitchen or bathtub to pour out all the vinegar water and removed scaling... best if you have a kitchen faucet hose spray to angle up in there while tilting it into the sink to rinse out everything. Have not noticed any leaking... only time I got water on the carpet around the unit is when pouring water into the unit. Ended up missing or hitting the edge which deflected the water out... just be mindful when you pour water into the unit and all is fine! I seen one post of someone using a bin in case it leaks... great idea, but I haven't needed or seen a reason too, other than oops when I pour water into the unit. Found plastic file bins work great for the footprint... smaller than the bin I seen the other guy post which was ridiculously oversized. The one thing I noticed while using this unit was one time it began to smell like burnt plastic... thinking somehow the sensor to turn off the heater when water low was stuck... Fortunately I was in the room when it started... heard the sizzling crackle of water like in a pan on the stove... When you hear that sound, that means the water level is low or done. I figured out the reason was due to scaling had blocked the water entering the dome heater area, so the auto shutoff for water level was on due to water was in that area, but no sensor where the heater dome is to know there is no water there! So machine is stuck being on and heater overheats the plastic. Fortunately I acted fast enough to unplug the unit. Added more water immediately down the funnel section. So far, since that first time, only encountered the scaling blocking water once more. So be sure to clean out the scaling regularly, depending how the water is in your area. All in all I am very happy with this steam humidifier unit!!! Read more
