We adopted a fat cat with sore joints. He's losing weight but he needed a solid surface to jump from to get to his favorite window I had a chair but it had a padded cushion which caused extra effort and pain. I looked around and saw this. It's a small toy box and it's lovely and it's made of NASTY CHEAP pressed paper board and i know it won't hold up to lots of normal use if it's used several times a day but I'm not using it everyday. It's really not going to be used very much at all. I bought it to replace the chair and we always can use more storage. My husband buys extra groceries for the church pantry near us and he didn't have a nice place to store the items until he could take them. This was perfect for that. Now he can accumulate a nice amount and it's out of site and organized. It's really sturdy and i really like the look but... it's pressed paper board and the screws will loosen and strip out if it's used a lot... so i feel i paid too much. For or use, it won't be opened and closed very much and only the cat will be using it as a stool. Mine didn't come with the stickers to cover over the screw holes so i just painted in the raw white holes with brown paint i had in hand. They are very deep holes so you see the raw paper board hike and the dark screw easily. The hardware for the box it's really nice heavy-duty hardware and it's a shame it's screwed into pressed paper because that won't hold up. There's no smell and the inside is finished the same as the outside which is nice. It will scratch really easily so again, it's not for everyday use or for kids to use as a toy box. I know i over paid but i got what i wanted and that's worth paying premium. It's not quantity. It's just for looking pretty while it helps the cat get to the window. Super simple and very cute. Blends well with other “grey” furniture in the room. The plan was to buy it as a toy chest for the dog toys, nothing pleasant about being woke up in the middle of the night by your dog chewing and screeching on their favorite toy. But it is such a universal size it would be perfect for several uses, blanket bench etc. and it looks like wood but when you touch it directly it feels like plastic. Which is actually a good thing because it makes it so that it is not so heavy and difficult to move it around. The directions were very clear and straightforward. The instructions were very easy to follow, and there were zero problems with the assembly. The individual pieces are easily understood by the stickers labeling each piece. I do wish that it came with the little grey stickers to cover all the screws. But It’s quite durable feeling as it lined up perfectly squared. So happy with it that I am most likely going to buy another. And to add on, I actually just found and bought the perfect matching stickers to cover the screw heads, they were just a few dollars. I have no idea why the stickers are all sold in quantities of 200 or more. Lifetime supply of stickers for several people. Read more

I was not sure what to expect, but i was pleasantly surprised by the ease of constructing this myself and how well it all went together. The instructions were easy to follow, and there were a couple of extra screws included (which I did not end up needing). It's longer and deeper than I expected, which is a plus. I am generally very satisfied with this piece! Some things to be aware of: it's not made of the *best* materials, so if you are expecting an Ikea-like item, you will be disappointed. However, for the price, it's very good and it matches with my white Ikea bedroom furniture very nicely. I'd also like to see the kit have something included to cover all the visable screw heads that are present after construction. I would have expected some white dots or something to match the white painted veneer so that they are less visible. Overall, I really do recommend this! Read more

Just as described. It looks great but the box walls are kind of thin. Was a quick assembly however I suggest you have a real hex key set as the hex key they supply you with is small and useless. You will need help adding the lid onto the rest of the box unless you have 3 hands. But I would buy this again. Read more
