Comfortable, flexible, light, cozy, non-slip. Perfect slipper for Thai-chi, yoga, meditation
I ordered the grey and I love them. They fit true to size, and I consider them a specialty slipper, as I will explain. I own 5 pairs of slippers but typically alternate between two--one pair I will wear outside, and one pair I never wear outside. This pair replaced the pair I 'never wear outside'--they are too nice for that to me. If one were to marry a ninja shoe, ballet slipper, and a house slipper, these slippers would likely be the outcome, and I like this very much for my needs. These are not ordinary, traditional slippers. They do not offer much cushioning and will not scoot/slide around on surfaces. These seem to enhance the connection between my feet and the floor, not cushion me from it. These also seem to give me more traction than my foot alone or most other slipper soles. These two qualities make these slippers more suited for yoga, Thai-chi, Pilates, and stairs, which meets my needs more than my need for cushioning on the soles of my feet around the house. The outer material is soft, comfortable, and very cozy, as if fleece were blended with terrycloth. This outer material has a smoother, velvety lining on the inside that feels great (see pic--(liner is removed)). I find it to hug my foot like a warm mitten, making contact all around the top and sides of my foot due to its somewhat stretchy attribute. A liner on the thinner side (see pic) is found within each slipper that can be easily removed for washing and put back in, or a thicker liner can be used to replace it for those who want more cushioning. The liner can also be left out, leaving your foot contacting rubber spike nubs at the foot's ball and heel that may offer beneficial stimulation for some people to the soles of their feet (see pic). These nubs were probably intended to help the liner stay in when removing the slipper. I wear them fully on over the heel--I will never tramp them down like slides--not these. So, putting them on also requires my hand, for which these slippers are easily worthy of. The slippers are the most flexible, sure-footed, lightest pair I own, and my new favorites. They are perfect for my Pilates, yoga, and meditation time, and I will be using them for Thai-chi for older people when I start that next. The style is ideal for me. They have a somewhat duck-bill shape--an eastern/tibetan-style look. They make my feet happy, as they feel like they are getting one long hug when I wear them--a very snuggly, cozy feel on my feet. I couldn't find any washing instructions, and Rufus couldn't either, but I will have no problem hand-washing them when needed in warm water with mild soap and letting them air dry, and I will do the same for the liner, too. If one needs a gift for someone who practices Thai-chi, meditation, yoga, pilates, or wants a slipper that won't compromise their balance that has a quiet, anti-slip sole, this would really be a great gift idea for them if you know their foot size. I have no doubt I will be ordering another pair for me in the future for whenever a new pair is needed, and I will probably order some for gifting. Based on everything I love about these slippers, the price is far less than I would happily pay, making them a great value. Read more
