DC commuter here! Best investment I made to save myself time to and from the metro station leaving my car at home! Before buying this the reviews on the breaks almost made me not get this scooter. Please know all the ppl saying the breaks are too harsh have never driven a car before. You do not ever break hard in or on any vehicles. The breaks are smooth when you apply them smoothly. Yes if you slam the breaks hard you will stop hard. Typical physics. I’m very pleased with the breaks and the overall ride. Air was needed for the tires out the box but I was still able to do 2 rides after unboxing. This is where a portable air pump for my car came in handy. The 19 mph feels fast when riding. It does drain my battery a bit with the amount of hills in DC & MD + my weight (210lb 5’11 female). I do about 5.6 miles (42 minutes round trip) commuting and I usually get home with 1 battery bar left from a full charge on Sport mode. Light on the scooter is good at night to see all the city pot holes. Definitely recommend this especially if it’s on sale! Great ride and no issues so far. I’ll be buying back up tires to have on hand asap! Can’t believe I didn’t invest in this sooner. Read more

Bought this to be a way to get to and from my classes. Was a nice ride and well put together, until a month passed and it’s already broken Tried to take it out and the scooter started throwing up an error code, tried to look in the manual to see what the problem was and it wasn’t written, so I had to research the problem myself because hover 1 didn’t have it written Turned out to be a problem with a throttle, and when I looked I noticed that the throttle on my scooter is not even the one that is advertised for this scooter, probably a third party patch job that was never going to last anyway. I should have a warranty on this scooter, at least I put in on the hover website to have a warranty, but the website has you submit your email so they can send you a link and the link never arrives If you try to call customer support you get an automated message saying nobody is going to take your call before it hangs up. All in all a terrible product from a bad company. Read more

I needed a scooter to complete my commute to work, having to get from a train station to my office across town. I reviewed several scooters and a lot of signs pointed to the Hover-1 Journey Max for its value, power, speed, smooth ride, and ability to climb hills. I decided on the Hover-1 Journey and I'm very glad I did. This thing is awesome. It has two motors so you can select FWD, RWD or both for max power. It rides super smooth and quiet and has cool features like automatic cruise control. It's not the lightest thing, but its easy enough for me to fold, pick up and walk onto a train, or into an elevator with. This morning on my commute, I found myself passing other scooters easily while on a decent incline. Great quality and performance all around. I'm a very happy customer. Read more

Pro: Amazing acceleration, yet easy to modulate speed with the throttle, even when speed unlocked in highest mode with both motors active. Platform is both long and wide. Great for varying foot placement and comfort. Decent ride for a non-suspension scooter. Cons: Regen brakes are a mess, it's all or nothing. Can't be adjusted. Even if you disconnect the disc brake, it is still too abrupt. Cruise control and push to start are permanently enabled. It lacks and app so there is no way it can ever be updated to modify or update it. Headlight is weak, good for letting others see you, but useless for seeing the road. Other: Switching to single motor mode immensely improves the regen braking. But, you lose the performance, which is why you bought the scooter in the first place. M365 accessories that attach to the steering pole or back of the scooter are incompatible with modifications. Very little space on the handlebar for attachments like phone holder, lights, mirrors, etc. The scooter is disabled while charging. While that is a good thing for safety, an external battery cannot be run through it to extend the range while riding. The scooter also appears to be fully welded together, so modification or repairs to the battery, controllers and wiring is not an option. Read more

Dual motors is great on a scooter and it makes acceleration very fast and easy, but thats where the pros end. This scooter is extremely unreliable, the first time I purchased it the tire blew a hole near the stem making repair impossible, had to return after only a few weeks of use. The second time and my last time buying this I only had a chance to use it for less than 2 weeks and the scooter stopped wanting to turn on consistently which made driving it dangerous in the street. Would not recommend this scooter for anyone. Read more

It's actually a decent product for the price, what you get, decent acceleration/speed, decent range, decent hill climbing ability, what you don't get is any customer support. If you have any issues your on your own, hover 1 does not back their products in any way. You cannot call anyone and the only way to contact them is through a service ticket which they do not respond to. The phone number is a dead end that says all agents are busy submit a ticket. Not servicable or repairable and replacement parts are almost non existent, and in the event you are able to return something or have it repaired, all costs for shipping and repairs are the consumers responsibility. Great scooter for a pre-teen, my kids lover it! Plenty of power and large enough for them to grow into. I'm so glad we didn't get them kids scooters. Read more
