I have purchased multiple onesie sets from Hudson Baby. Overall, I have been pleased, but there a few things that may be helpful to keep in mind. The designs are adorable, especially their seasonal designs. The quality is generally soft, but I have noticed some slight pilling and fading with multiple washes, if that happens to matter. Also regarding the quality, it can be hit and miss, so just plan ahead and allow time to return/exchange, if needed. I’ve made it a habit to thoroughly inspect seams. With that being said, I purchased this Christmas set early, in anticipation of a Christmas rush. I looked it over, and the seams looked good; however, the entire inner leg seam of the pants came undone and raveled in the wash (gentle cycle). Too late to return it now that it’s sold out *sigh*. The other thing that may be helpful to plan ahead for is shrinkage, when choosing a size. It’s generally to be expected with cotton. I always buy 1 size up and test the fit. If it’s close (and a seasonal outfit), I wash on cold and hang dry every time. I’m convinced even washing on “tap cold” has triggered slight shrinkage. If it’s preferred to wash onesies on warm and toss them into the dryer, definitely size up (possibly 2x) and let your little one grow into it. This can be challenging if you are buying ahead for a seasonal design, but you can always wash warm and toss in the dryer to for some shrinkage later. I personally think Hudson Baby onesies continue to shrink further with each wash, but I haven’t tested that hypothesis. I have, however, compared their fit to Carter’s brand. My little one has outgrown Hudson Baby onesies faster than Carter’s brand, so I know it isn’t just a matter of outgrowing a size. With that being said, however, it may also be because Carter’s onesies appear longer in the torso as compared to Hudson Baby onesies, which are a generally shorter. There are always outliers, though, because I have also encountered longer and shorter Hudson Baby onesies, within the same set even. This probably happens more than realized, for all brands; it just goes back to planning ahead and inspecting the clothes thoroughly for quality and any discrepancies, especially for seasonal designs that may sell out quickly.
