I suggest to anyone using coals to use with their hookah session to invest in a coal burner if you do not already have an electric stove. I believe the burners are only $20 on here (Amazon). Anyway, these coals burn slow and takes a decent time to heat up. I suggest setting up your hookah while the coal is heating up by the time you are done the coal should only need an extra minute or so to enjoy. Had a hard time lighting this charcoal. Ended up mixing it with regular charcoal just to get it going but even though I had a good fire going this hydro coconut charcoal did not fully light. Most of them were still dry like nothing happened to them. I don’t recommend this type of charcoal. You’ll just get frustrated and end it in the trash. Read more

I want to love these so bad!! But sadly I can’t. They are impossible to light. We spent 45 minutes doing everything we could think of. Finally we built a full fledged fire in my hebachi and nestled the bricks down into it. After feeding the fire for some time we finally got them to burn around the edges. By then the party was pretty much over. I’ll give them one more try, because I really do want to love them. Read more
