It does what’s needed, I had no issues with it. Heated up the tank quite quickly actually. Super easy to use, jut stick it in the tank, plug in, set it to whatever temperature you want, and you’re good to go. To clean, just pull it out, don’t forget to unplug it beforehand, just simply wipe clean. Definitely worth the money though. Read more

This isn't out first Hygger heater. Generally, we find them to be high quality and reliable. This heater falls into those categories. The actual build looks and feels of high quality and it has been heating a 5-gallon tall aquarium at a steady temperature. The temp swing is about 1.5F. What I don't like is programming it. Once setup, it's fine but Hygger has over-complicated the settings on this model (C/F, eco mode on/off, etc.). Adding a 3rd button, dedicated to setup would have made this heater great. Hygger, instead, made the decision to accomplish it using a combination of button press sequences, holding buttons down while unplugging/plugging the heater in, etc. It took 6 attempts to successfully change the display from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Despite the headache in setting it up, it's still a quality heater, does it's job, and does it reliably. Read more
This heater feels very well built, and while the beeping is annoying to me, it is a nice feature because I've killed a couple heaters by starting water changes without unplugging them first. It took me a few tries to switch this from C to F. I didn't see it somehow in my first reading of the manual and found the steps to be tricky. I ran this in an empty tank for a week while monitoring the temperature because I'm paranoid about small heaters malfunctioning and boiling the fish. Read more
