New to the candle warmer lamp game? I was a little while ago, too, and let me tell you something--I don't know if I'm going back to actually lighting them. At least for non-dinner table candles. This offering from Hyrion is a great deal. You get a nice (if not simple) lamp: wood base, metal goose neck stem, glass light shade. I favor the lamps with a glass shade; I think they look better than a metal shade. The goose neck is adjustable, so you can fit a variety of candle sizes under the lamp. I'm not talking big pillar candles, but you aren't going to be using that size candle with a lamp anyway. These lamps are for smaller candles that are in a jar; anything from 3 inches to 5 inches will work. So, you get a candle with the scent of your choice, adjust the neck, turn on the lamp, and let the aromas flow! All of the benefits of the candle without carbon the emissions. You get four levels of heat, which sort of controls how strong a scent you will get out of your candle melting; the stronger the light, the stronger the scent. There is also a timer for auto-off if you want to set it and forget it. Best thing is after you're done and the wax turns back into solid form, you can do it all over again with the same candle. I'll tell you where this really comes in handy--in the kids' rooms. Yeah, for anyone with kids, we've all gone through the "candle phase" with them, right? It scares the hell out of me every time when I wake up and smell that scent of long-burning candle from a kid's room. And they just love it. This is SUCH a better alternative that serves everyone's interest: the teens who just have to have a candle going and you, who don't want your house to burn down! I've never tried a candle warmer before and I think I'm now hooked! This thing is great! It heats up enough to melt the wax so you can smell the scent of the candle, without burning...brilliant design! And it's super cute, I love the color of the glass shade. It has a timer setting, which is perfect for someone who regularly forgot to blow out a flame candle. The glass shade is also adjustable so you can raise/lower depending on the height of the candle. I’ve used this wax warmer lamp for a few weeks, and I’m pleased with how it performs. It was easy to assemble and the bulb installation took just a minute. Candle warmers were not on my radar. I think I pictured tea-candle strength power. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Not only do they “work” like a real lit candle but they last at least 10 times longer…I haven’t actually checked this scientifically but I HAVE made a thin black sharpie line to see how much it went down in a day, and it barely used any wax. I know, right? Well, now I do. It comes with 2 bulbs I assume are halogen because of the strict way you must handle them (no oil from skin touch). The lamp part raises and lowers to accommodate all size candles, including big jar candles. Esthetically I prefer the shorter, 3-wick candles. There is also a timer and dimmer on the on/off switch. If the fragrance is too overpowering, just dim the bulb down -there are 3 levels I believe. I have a slightly different one in my living room which I can smell throughout most of the house.
