Ice Cream Attachment Compatible with KitchenAid 4 5 5 6 7QT Mixers Makes 2 Quarts of Ice Cream

The media could not be loaded. This is one of the absolutely best purchases I’ve made in a while. I got this off brand because the reviews were actually better than the brand name. It makes two quarts. It was soft serve consistency last night and absolutely perfect consistency tonight (after putting leftovers in individually portioned containers in the freezer). You keep the empty bowl in the back of the freezer. Pre-mix your ingredients to 46 oz recipe. Get the bowl and attachment on mixer and set it to stir before pouring in your mix. Takes about 30 minutes to mix/freeze. No ice. No rock salt. Just mix on the lowest/stir setting. Pour up leftovers and freeze those. I let the ice cream bowl thaw to room temp overnight and then hand-washed it the next morning. Then, after air drying all day, just put it back into the freezer so that it’s ready for next time. Better than my Cuisinart ice cream maker. Once you get over the slight learning curve of attaching the paddle it's very easy and fast to use. I hid the bowl stays colder for longer and I've been able to make 2 quick batches back to back. Since Kitchenaid mixers are relatively fast at the lowest setting compared to a Cuisinart you can get more air into your product than you may want, leading to more of a gelato texture vs hard park ice cream, but for home use, that's fine. Big fan of this ice cream maker but it is picky about how long it should be frozen. The packaging says 16 hours but it should be in there closer to 24 and in a deep freezer. Read more
