Icebreaker Merino Mens Central Classic Short Sleeve Wool T-Shirt

I got this t-shirt for my husband. He's the one who introduced me to brands like Smartwool and Icebreaker. I was always skeptical about wearing wool t-shirts or socks in the summer, but these brands do an incredible job of keeping you odor-free for a surprisingly long time. Whether it's for a hiking trip, a demanding job (like my husband has), or just wanting to stay comfortable in the heat, wool is amazing at wicking moisture away from your body. Plus, the natural properties of wool prevent bacteria from growing, which is why it doesn't start to smell. Personally, I find that Icebreaker's fabrics have a nicer feel. They're just softer and more pleasant against the skin. I've seen some other reviewers complain about the cotton content in this shirt. Yes, it's a 50% wool, 50% cotton blend. I think the manufacturer did this to make the t-shirt extra soft and comfortable in the heat. I've noticed they add Lyocell to other models for a cooling effect, so don't let the blend scare you away. My husband was 100% happy with the quality, size, and color. He did tell me to order a size up, though. He usually wears S, but the M fits him perfectly. So if you're a M, I'd definitely go for an L. This is a high-quality shirt. True to size. The fabric is heavy-duty yet light to wear. It's moisture-wicking and very comfortable for a wool-blend. My only complaint is the poky brand tag, I cut that off. Highly recommend. Read more

Do not buy this product! I bought this thinking it would be a good wool travel shirt, so I have worn it for fewer than 10 times. I've only used gentle wash cycles and have hung it to dry each time, so I was super surprised to find that the stitching on the collar has fallen apart, and now there is a hole. This is literally the most expensive t-shirt I ever bought and it's lasted the fewest uses. Awful and disappointing. Read more

i was fooled by the title of the item "Short sleeve wool T.."! actually shirt is blend half wool half cotton. i was concerned that the cotton would not breathe like the wool. i returned the shirt. other icebreaker merino shirts are all wool. be cautious! Read more
