I just installed the 4th one of these I have used. I change every 6 months and these ICEPURE filters have served well. The water comes out clear and odor free once a new filter is properly installed. I always run 2 gallons of water through them when first installed and that clears the residual charcoal dust that may be present. After that, you are good to go for at least the next 6 months. Why pay 40 or 50 dollars for a filter that is changed out every 6 months? One reviewer pointed out that sometimes pliers are need to install these filters, but that is a slight inconvenience.
