I am so pleased with this skirt; its quality far exceeds my expectations for this price point. The fabric is wonderfully soft and appropriately thick--not flimsy or see-through. The cut and the fabric's softness cause the skirt to fall in graceful folds, at a perfect length, especially with boots. I'm 5'4", 125 lbs, and the hem hits at a few inches below my knee. It's nicely finished, with a cute button detail near the pockets, those nice pockets themselves, and a nicely hidden zipper. The waist has elastic for ease and fit. The wool-blend fabric is just the right weight to flow prettily and keep me warm, without appearing bulky. I chose the soft grey and black plaid, and I really like the colors and their versatility. This skirt is comfortable and flattering. The zipper is easy to zip and unzip. Also the skirt has a bit of elastic in the back which helps give you a little room for movement or for tucking in a blouse. It seems very well made and has a bit of tummy control in the front which gives a flattering shape. I ordered this in my usual size. I feel if I would have sized up it may be a bit too big and not as flattering. It is lined and thick and will give you some added warmth in the cooler temperatures. Hey, this is a skirt that's actually exactly as nice as it claims to be! In fact, I think it looks better on me, a human-size human, than it does on the model. I have had issues buying clothing from internet-only retailers. My expectations are low. A lot of times, you open the package and it's technically as described, but the fabric is some mystery synthetic, and the pattern was made for a size 2 and just drafted upwards so the proportions are weird (very common in plus size clothing), or the odd garment where you're betting the people who designed it had only had the concept of a blouse described to them, and that's what was produced. This is not the case! The fabric on the Dark Gray is a black and gray houndstooth weave, exactly like you would expect on this type of skirt. The weight is substantial and the drape is nice. It's not clingy, it's not see-through. There is even a lining, although it doesn't go to the hem of the skirt. While I have been trying to avoid polyester and other synthetics, it's becoming nearly impossible, so it is with that in mind that I'm pleasantly surprised that there is any wool content at all. The pockets are a cute detail. No one is going to look at this skirt and guess that I got it at the same place I get my air purifier filters and vacuum seal bags. The sizing is typical of internet clothing, in that there is not a separate "plus" line. I wear a 1X in most clothing from brick and mortar retailers. Plus girls know that an XL is NOT the same as a 1X. Amazon suggested I order the XXL (sometimes called a 2X, but very much NOT a plus size 2X) and that's what I did. It fits great. While there is a little elastic in the back, the waistband is fairly firm. That's part of why it has such a nice tailored look. But if you are more Apple than Hourglass, you may want to size up. -This skirt is great! I wanted something to pull out year after year and this seems well made. Definitely for fall/winter as it is warm and heavy in material. Add thermal leggings and insulated shoes and you will be toasty outside on even really cold days. -The pockets are very deep and things don’t fall out; the silver buttons are for looks only and they may need some reinforcing. -Its waistband is wide and therefore doesn’t dig in. There is elastic to the back on the sides only. There is a hidden zipper in the back. It also has a slip liner so it isn’t itchy; the only thing to note about it in case your skin is very sensitive like mine is the liner isn’t on the waistband which has been fine as I tuck my shirts into this skirt. -It is long on me which I expected and wanted. Maybe an inch and a half above my ankles at most. -The drape and flow when moving are very comfortable and classy looking. I am wearing it a little high on my waist (a little on my ribs) because of postpartum tummy, but without that it would easily slide down to my natural waist all the way. (Side note on postpartum wearing, you may want to wait till your abs come back together a little as this skirt adds bulk and you may feel huge. 🙃 ) -I’m very petite, 5’1” and currently around 130lbs (100-110lbs without baby weight). Size medium fits perfectly; I wear size 8 jeans which is right in line with the size chart provided. My only dilemma is whether or not to get more in my current size or wait till I get the baby weight off and size down. 😂 -So far it washes well and it doesn’t wrinkle. I wanted to like this skirt so much! The material is quite heavy. It boasts deep pockets and a cute button accents at the pocket opening for a chic look. When I tried it on, it hit right at mid shin level. The problem for me was the waistband. The elastic back is certainly nice and is very forgiving, but the material had a weird bump out where the elastic waistband stopped right around the hip area making me look super wide (and I'm not). I ordered a small, wear a size 2-4 in jeans, am an athletic 140 pounds with a rectangular/inverted pyramid body type. I was hoping it would cinch my waist a bit, but this wasn't the right fit for me. Zipper is a delicate invisible zipper and takes some finesse to get zipped properly. Colors are beautiful, vibrant and exactly as pictured. Read more
