In early spring, I purchased upgraded exercise equipment to intensify my workout program (stationary bike, rowing machine, elliptical trainer). I wanted something to pass the time faster while training, and decided to buy a portable DVD player to use with exercise and travelogue videos. I did a thorough internet search to identify the best model for my use, and found the ieGeek IK-703. I purchased one in late spring and mounted it on my stationary bike. To say I was pleased is an understatement. Because of my experience with it, a month later I bought a second unit, which I mounted on my rowing machine. I have found these players to be excellent in every way . The controls are transparent, easy to use, and comprehensive. The image fidelity and color reproduction of the screen is excellent for a portable player. I particularly like the Last Chapter function that restarts play at the last viewed point on a DVD (if so set). The cabinet of the Player is very sturdily constructed and has a pleasing look if it is openly displayed on a cabinet or shelf. As someone who has owned a lot of audio and video equipment over the years, I am somewhat astounded at the level of quality and functionality that ieGeek has managed to produce in this compact player. Congratulations to them. Lastly, I had occasion to contact ieGeek's Customer Service Unit, to have some questions I had about the operation of the player answered. I absolutely love this dvd player. The picture is clear and quite beautiful. I am deaf in one ear and honestly hear everything clearly. The sound goes up to 20 I hear it perfectly on 13 to 15. If your dvd has closed caption you will get it on the this player. I'm 80 years old and have found it easy to use and have no problem using it. I would buy this again and I recomment it to everyone who is looking for a good affordable dvd portable player. Update. After writing this review I had a problem playing my dvds but was very ill for months and couldn't notify customer service of my problem. Recently I emailed them what was happening and why I didn't notify them sooner.. They asked me to try a few things to see if they would fix the problem. They didn't. Customer Service replaced my player without any problem whatsoever and they were wonderful to work with. In my opinion this is a great dvd player. Picture is clear and beautiful. Sound is clear and loud enough to hear. If your dvd has closed caption this player will show it. I'm very happy with it. Read more

I bought this because I do not watch tv. I wanted something practical but good quality. What I got was a very good quality dvd player with wonderful sound and clear picture with decent screen size. It is easily portable and lightweight. The screen rotation was a plus, because I didn’t realize it was a feature. It’s simple and to the point, and I have enjoyed movie after move. It sits well on a table or lap. Headphones can be used and it comes with a remote, but if you have it near by all of the remote controls are on the actual device. I don’t particularly want to give up my dvd collection partly because you don’t really own the streaming products you buy. I rarely watch tv because I only really have time for entertainment when I’m doing things around the house. But I can take this with me from room to room and I tested out my 20 year old dvds and they worked perfectly. This with the charger/remote and my binder full of dvds fit snugly in a messenger bag and I can store it all on a shelf in my closet and easily take it wherever I want to go. I had a bit of an unusual experience with this DVD player but learned that ieGeek has The BEST customer service I have EVER experienced!! The first player I got had a problem and would start and stop periodically. I contacted ieGeek support and they asked me to make sure the laser head was clean (I just had to wipe it gently with a cloth) and to video the DVD having the problem and send it to them. They determined the player was at fault and sent me a new one within a couple days. Unfortunately, the 2nd one had a similar problem so we repeated the same steps and they determined that this player was also at fault so they sent me a 3rd player (at this point I was sticking with this product mainly because of how supportive their customer support team was being!)....and I absolutely Love this 3rd DVD player. I can play all my DVDs on the player while my husband watches movies he likes on our TV. I have had No problem with this 3rd player. I am giving this review 5 stars based on their customer service.....and my loving this newest DVD player which works Great! When I am in the market again for something electronic, I will look to find one sold by ieGeek and that is the one I will buy......that is how impressed I have been with this customer service!! The ieGeek DVD player arrived early and everything I hoped it would be came true. It was quiet while playing a DVD. Picture and sound were of the highest quality. It is easy to use and no problems with the remote control. I love the large screen. I bought this to replace a smaller player and it made so much noise playing a disc it was hard to hear the movie. I am amazed at how quiet the ieGeek is. This player is high quality and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this player. GLS Read more
