I like the thickness of the mat. The color is nice and muted being gray and black. It is versatile as you can do solid, striped or a checkered pattern design upon installation. This turns a cement floor into a play floor for a child. Not as fall protection for a slide or raised structure. Rubber would be needed for that. I ordered a quantity that would cover a 14'x14' area, and they were very easy to lay down and link together. On any surface, they'd be good for stand-up striking and footwork. On a carpeted surface (which is what I have them on), they're sufficient for take-downs and rolling. The only issue I've encountered is one that's not a product issue, it's just implicit with the design of pads that link or interlock: if you step, toe-first, on the border of two, your toe may slip under, or it may pull the interlinking tooth out of place. Everybody in my house loves these. I laid them in the living room, when not used, I put a blanket over it so that we can walk. I have my big ball and every time I feel a need to test out a new move, I don't have to wait for Next week's class, I can just do it here. I can do my conditioning training and drills at home, and at the dojo, focus on techniques. What a smart investment. I'm not sure if Judo take-downs will be fantastic with one layer of these, but if you put two layers it's super supportive. Jiu Jitsu drills are very comfortable on the mats, and Yoga is amazing. Bought these mats to cover my bonus room above the garage. They work well and don't have any rubber/plastic odors that I noticed. They fit together fairly well but some of the edges are not 100% flat. It's not really that big of an issue. However, I docked one star because a lot of these mats had some type of oil or grease that smelled like WD-40 on it when I took them out of the box. I needed to give these a good mop down. They are 1" thick and are firm enough where you can balance on one leg without feeling like you are sinking in to the mat. I don't suggest putting furniture or anything focused on a small point on these mats as they will indent and possibly puncture. I put wider slider feet under the legs of a coffee table I have up in the room. Served my purpose well. Would suggest this product. Read more

Very pleased with the price and quality of these. I also like that enough end pieces were included to finish out the exposed ends. We're using them under a set of gymnastic rings in our garage which are used for strength building. They are on concrete, always used barefoot or in socks, and I feel that the thickness and firmness are just right for protection in the case of accidental falls. Perfect for our purposes. Read more

Great quality! These mats are very thick, sturdy, and plush. I used them in my 2 car garage (converted to a home gym) and they work great. Aesthetically, they're vibrant, colorful, bright, and they add a lot to a room. I had the gray mats from Walmart before these, and while those are good, they fail miserably in comparison to these. Used this on bare concrete floor in unfinished basement. I'm pretty big at 6', 240lb, and I'm using it for p90: pushups, burpees, jumps, etc - all the plyo stuff, including yoga, that you'd expect would drive these tiles to seperate. Nada. Holding together strong over a couple of weeks now with no signs. If suspect that over time it might be necessary to tape the underside of the seams together, I mean, I have to imagine that they won't hold up forever (maybe I should just do that now as a preventative measure?). But so far, they have taken some abuse with zero issues. I was really pressed to find clean, non-toxic, non-gassing tiles since my wife is a nut about it. These are fantastic, I did a lot of research on it. I'm confident and comfortable with this purchase...and it's half the price of competing brands that couldn't make the same claims on toxicity/safety. If I demolish these things, you know what I'll do? Buy another set. Read more

These are great and fit together nicely but, we use them inside the house on a wood floor, and there is a very slippery residue that comes off on the floor. It is so slippery that we slip and slide even in bare feet. Almost like an oil. I thought at first it was dust, but it is definitely a petroleum residue. So I took all these squares outside and hosed them off, scrubbed them with Dawn, dried them out and then tried them again, and it is better, but is still leaving a residue. SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN USING THEM AS I DO! If I would have known this, I would not have purchased them. Read more
