Exactly what I needed!
Every time I get a new computer, I pull the HDD out of the old one and put it in an enclosure, not just for security reasons, but to use for additional storage. If you look at the included picture, it illustrates that I still have a 3.5" HDD (that I think I'll transferred and retire) that can be compared to this wonderful enclosure for a recent SSD of the same capacity. Admittedly, it did not work when I first plugged it in; got some weird error messages. But after rebooting the new laptop, it hasn't had any issues recognizing and accessing the former laptop's SSD. I only wish I had bought it sooner. Getting the new computer to transfer from the old, while different from the pains of the past, was just as painful. It's MUCH better to just yank the SSD into and enclosure, and then choose your files to transfer (assuming you don't need ancient apps and clients like I had). After that, you have an awesome storage or backup device that fits in a pocket or purse rather than luggage Read more
