It is nice and thin, but yet feels quite sturdy. Just do a quick step on/off with a foot to turn it on. Step on to get weighed. Appears to be very accurate. I got this scale because my wife just had surgery, and the medical scale is in the basement. This makes it easier for her to get weighed.
