We've used this air fryer for several months now and I am ready to report it is so nice! The basket holds a large serving of food - definitely enough for my husband & myself and I would say even for 2 other adults with reasonable servings - and cooks quickly and evenly. I've cooked fish, broccoli, chicken, potatoes and more - they all come out perfect. I've had to get used to the timing & best temps for certain foods but it is easy to make adjustments with the controls. The material of the basket itself and the removable "floor" are super easy to clean and do not show any wear & tear. I especially love it in the summer as it doesn't heat up the kitchen. I am careful about extra appliances that take up precious counter space but this one is definitely worth it , & it's not too bad - about a 12" square base. This is my first air fryer and I am thrilled with it. As a single person, it makes cooking easy and quick. Beats heating up an oven and waiting an hour for your food. I have used both the air fry and reheat buttons so far. Reheated items are just as tasty as the first time. Everything that I air fry has a nice crisp to it. I went with this brand/model as I was unsure how much I would use an air fryer. Now, I have no idea how I lived without it. So much so, that I am getting rid of my huge toaster oven and putting the air fryer in its place! The only downside I have with this unit is that I have to cook each food item solo (example: I cook my chicken then veggie). This means the first one cools down by the time the second one is done so I have to reheat the first. Due to this, I would look at the duel basket if/when this model must be replaced. But for anyone looking for a first air fryer, this is a good choice. I do not regret buying this at all. Pros. Large basket holds a lot. Square shape makes spreading food out easy. This air fryer is too tier. The settings are easy to understand and use. It can be a bit noisy, but it cools your food a lot quicker than other air fryers I have used on the same temp and time settings. It is super easy to clean and maintain. There is a little grate that pulls out to keep your food separated from grease and what not so you can scrub the grate and dump the grease from the bucket itself. This air fryer lasted us 4 years of using it every single day sometimes 3+ times a day and usually for atleast 3o minutes in the evenings for dinners. 10/10 recommend! Read more
Jumped off the Cosori bandwagon since they refused to help me in any way when my replacement basket started falling apart like the original one that came with the model I've had. Their once-good customer service is garbage now and non-existent. I was considering Ninja but their air fryers I was considering do not pause/shut off if you pull the basket out mid-cook. Enter this Vortex model. Not only is it 10dB quieter than the cosori, it actually does cook better too. I'm having to use lower temperatures which is fine by me. While there was quite a noticeable smell in the beginning, after several break-in cycles (didn't cook any food until the smell was gone) and a few hot soapy water washes, it was good to go. Before buying this air-fryer, I'd purchased a smaller, mini one. I used that darned thing so much that I gave IT away and bought this one! GREAT CHOICE! Listen, food actually DOES taste better with an air-fryer! And I'm not some young whipper-snapper that's used to microwaved dishes and frozen pop tarts! I grew up on REAL food! The kind that gives you stamina, protein and tastes delicious! NOW you can have all of that, and STILL in less time and less hassle! You can check out ALL kinds of recipes for ALL kinds of foods. 10-25-24 UPDATE. I have cooked so many things in my Instant Vortex Air Fryer. My husband is totally loving it... cooking for 2 people is so simple now. His fav is Biscuits baked in air fryer! phots attached. Also cornbread bakes nicely also. 6-28-23 Watched reviews and comparisons before purchasing this Instant Pot Vortex Air Fryer. 9-14-23 update: I AM TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY by how versatile this product is. Had a learning curve and gleamed lot of ideas from internet. Learned pans/utensils that are usable in conventional ovens can be used in this product. Lots of ideas and recipe to cook different types of food. Using air fry setting and small pie pan placed in air fryer basket, I've fried bacon then fried egg in the bacon drippings; air fry potatoes come out golden, soft and yummy. Using the bake setting, I baked meatballs that turned out sooooo beautiful done!!! Using reheat setting and small oven safe bowl, reheated veggies and meats. As we say in south, "This air fryer does it all but walk the dog!!!" PS. Next I may try baking a few biscuits. Read more
