Great.

The media could not be loaded. My almost 2 year old male Morkie loves his ball. Any self moveable toy, he wants to roll on it or lay on it. I think I need to get him like a message or vibrating bed. Enjoy the video. Read more

A little too aggressive

We've had a larger version of this type of ball for a year or more, and Abby loves to play with it. It bounces around, she bats at it, it stops for a bit, she picks it up and moves it to a different part of the house where she wants to play with it, or just barks at it to start bouncing again - all good fun (if you ignore the noise of the ball and the dog). The only problem is it's almost too big for her to pick up. She can, but it's a stretch (she's a 16 lb Feist Terrier). So I've been on the lookout for a smaller ball. We tried a similar ball to this one, but she didn't like it. It never stopped bouncing/spinning. Not for at least 20–30 minutes. She quickly lost interest in it. Chasing it is fun, but playing with it when it's resting is fun, too, and this thing never rested. This ball certainly rests more, but as far as Abby is concerned, it could rest even more. It's much better than the last one, and she does actually play with it, but she wanders away from it fairly quickly. As an example of how 'aggressive' it is, it starts spinning and bouncing almost immediately after you turn it on, making it darn hard to close it back up. That can be an issue as you need to tighten it really tight, or it unscrews itself and falls into three pieces. I like that it uses a SUB-C connector to charge. The older, bigger one uses a micro USB connector. I have a cable for it, but nearly everything else we charge uses USB-C. Life is easier when you only need one cable. As I said, she does play with it, so I gave it 4 stars. If it spent a little more time 'resting', it might get 5 stars. At least from Abby. Read more

Well-Made, But Not a Fit for Every Pup

The interactive smart pet toy arrived quickly and was a bit smaller than I expected—but that’s on me for not checking the dimensions more carefully. Charging was fairly straightforward once I figured out that the outer shell needed to be twisted off to access the port. That said, it would’ve been really helpful if it came with directions—especially since I still haven’t been able to figure out how to switch between the “crazy” and “steady” modes. As for performance, I can’t speak much to the toy’s full potential because, unfortunately, our one-year-old pup is absolutely terrified of it. We’ve tried a few times, but he wants nothing to do with it! That said, the toy rolled around on our hardwood floors for over an hour and held up great—so durability seems solid from what I’ve seen. This might be a great toy for a more adventurous or curious dog, but it wasn’t the right fit for ours. Read more

Fun little toy!

The media could not be loaded. I have two dogs, one who doesn't play with toys at all, and one who only plays with her favorite toys. They are both afraid of so many things and I was curious how they'd do with a moving, flashing and bouncing ball. I fully expected them both to run and hide. Happily, both dogs let their curiosity get the better of them and interacted with the Smart Pet Toy more than I could have imagined! The toy comes with a charging cord, and it took about half an hour for the first full charge right out of the box. The instructions for how to take the ball apart, where to find the on-off button, etc., are on a card no bigger than a standard business card and, even with a magnifying glass, it was hard to read the instructions. Luckily, the operation of the toy is pretty straightforward and easy to figure out. The toy rolls around, stops, flashes, whirs, rolls some more... pretty much has a mind of its own. It's quieter on a carpet, obviously, and quite noisy on a bare floor as it is freer to bounce around. It kept both my dogs engaged and curious if not a little uncertain. I will use it often to keep their minds stimulated and curious. I would recommend this toy for dogs that are easily entertained and that enjoy excitement...and even for dogs that tend to be weenies. You never know what might spark their curiosity! Edit: It's been two weeks since we got this toy and it just keeps getting better and better! I added a video to show Phoebe's engagement, the dog who usually takes a toy outside, drops it and goes on to something else (as evidenced by the toys scattered in the yard). She has arthritis in her spine and we now have to limit her active time, but the vet said her engagement with this toy is a perfect replacement for long walks and rougher playing. Now, when Phoebe has had enough playtime with "Buzzy," she puts it in her bed and lies next to it, keeping her eye on it. I LOVE this toy, but I need to mention that after it has bounced and rolled around for awhile, it will come apart and simply lie there in three pieces, buzzing and blinking. But even that lends to curiosity and engagement. Also, it will stop on its own and wait to be touched before setting off again so be sure to turn it off when playtime is over. Read more

Heavy, hard on kitty toes

I got this for my cats thinking that they would like this. When I turned it on they were very interested. As it was doing its' thing, it would bounce off the floor. It is a hard plastic and is on the heavy side so it hits really hard on the floor. It got one of the cat's paws. He made an awful sound then hissed at it. Now if it is turned on he is terrified of it and runs and hides. I also noticed that it does not stay together very well. The vibration and jumping causes it to loosen up and it comes apart. I had my husband try to tighten it for me and we still had the same issue. This may work better for a dog. Read more
