These are a good value and are of good quality. When installed (No tools-just suction) they feel VERY solid/sturdy. We have previously tried various items to keep the different shampoo's & such in order in the shower. Cheap suction cup models don't hold up. Either the cups degrade, or get knocked off the tile at the slightest touch, or the "container" itself degrades & becomes cloudy or cracks, etc. Have had these several months now and the plastic remains crystal clear, the suction cups are designed such that a very strong suction exists when installed properly. They can be knocked off, but not easily. Even if you WANT to remove it for repositioning it doesn't come off too easily (don't read that to be it's hard to remove because it's not. Just hard to remove by accident). We have four units, three "normal" size and one extra large. I recommend the extra large size to better fit the large size shampoo bottles one may get from BJ's or Costco or Sam's Club, etc. Read more
Nice caddy, but you can't believe everything you read. Yes, Sorry to confirm what many others have said. It does not stay up indefinitely. It stays up for a while at first but eventually let's go and falls. Even with thoroughly cleaning the suction cups and the wall to which they are attaching to, it does fall down again sooner this time than last. The cycle continues until one of the suction cup assemblies breaks and the unit is no longer functional. Really dissapointing. Read more
Have owned this before. The week link is the little plastic pin in the hinges, it can slip out over time. Did on my last one and it was lost. If it is recovered it can be pressed back in and good to go. However in our case had to repurchase. Will hold a can of shaving cream a couple of razors and a bottle of shampoo or body wash. Good size for shower. Suction to wall is very good. Read more
I thought I'd give it a chance but I certainly regret it. When I first attached the basket to my shower wall, I thought the suction cups were very strong. Then it fell less than 10 minutes later. I haven't been able to get the thing to stick for more than 10 minutes. Now it just sits on the edge of my bathtub. Don't waste your money. Seriously, don't waste your money. Read more
Update: yes the suction failed but saved by my colorful rope system :-). I should mention though that I had this attached to the diffused shower glass which isn't perfectly smooth. Still with my rope system it is a great basket. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is not your normal suction system. First you tilt the suction cups up, then push onto the surface and pull the basket down to create the suction. It is a strong connection. The problem is most suction type systems eventually lose their full power and depending on the weight could go crashing to the floor. And since it is a hard plastic it could break. I think the key is how much weight can you put into this? What we like: We like how strong the suction is initially - time will tell other wise. It has a place on each end to hold razors. They show a toothbrush but in the shower? It does have holes in the bottom for drainage but they missed the very ends so I will drill a couple of extra holes. It's a great size for holding different kinds of things from soap to shampoo bottles. No metal! Let's face it, we've tried many metal caddies including stainless and they all rust - this definitely won't rust! It's actually pefect for us except we really don't know how much it can hold before it eventually falls to the floor. So we've been "making" a shower caddie by adding nylon rope to hang these baskets. Nylon (or synthetic) rope comes in many colors so you can create something that looks pretty cool, sort of nautical. We have another basket already "roped up" and hanging from a plastic over the door hanger. We'll add another colorful rope from the top basket to this one for at a minimum peace of mind. Other than we don't trust the suction cups 100%, this is a great basket, perfect size, with drain holes and looks good, well it's clear so it can't really look bad. Read more
Plain and simple. You will love this until it crashes into the tub and wakes you up at 2 in the morning. Unless you plan on removing and cleaning every month religiously, it will fall. The suction cups just can't keep holding longer than about a month. Worse if you have any kind of porous tile at all. I have smooth tile and the longest it has lastest is a month and a half, usually about a month. I'm looking at the 3M tape on ones now. Read more
