I really needed this USB hub because I bought a microphone and only had one USB cable available, while the two ports on my PC were already occupied. This ended up being a lifesaver because it added 4 more ports to my setup, and now I have everything connected without any issues. So far it has worked perfectly with no connection problems at all. The material feels more like plastic and not super heavy-duty, but I’ve had it for a while now and it still works great with no damage or issues. I just needed a cheap USB splitter for my car & this hub does just fine. I have a USB for my kid & one other for myself to keep the hundreds of songs we have apart. My car only has one 2.0 USB port so I wouldn't know what 3.0 would be like. But it felt the same speed for my car to read the USB as without the hub. It does not charge your devices, it transfers way too little electricity that it cannot be used as a charger. Has it for almost a year still working great. Highly recommend for the price. Read more

I bought it with the intention of playing four wired controllers on an XB1 Series X, and while it does do that, through trial and error I realized that it is best to not leave the controllers plugged into the hub between boots -- meaning, after you're done playing, disconnect all the controllers from the hub, and the hub from the machine. When needing to play with 4 controllers again, boot and once at the home screen, then replug the hub, then replug each controller. I am not entirely certain this necessity is due to the hub itself, or with XB1's trouble registering each one, or with the individual off-brand controllers having trouble. It does work, though!
