I am a 61-year-old woman, and my hair has been thinning for several years. I used to have a lot of very thick hair, so the thinning wasn't noticeable to anyone but myself. Then a few months ago I suddenly noticed drastic hair loss in my temple area. My front hairline also became thin, so you could see my scalp through the hair. I started to have to style my hair to hide the loss, avoiding certain hair styles like pony tails and updos that exposed my bald temples. I did a lot of research on how to address this, and found the iRestore on Amazon. It was expensive, but I figured if it worked it would be a lot cheaper than going to my dermatologist for treatment. I was skeptical that it would be the magic bullet I wanted, but thought I'd try it before I went in for more expensive medical treatments. I've been using the iRestore for almost two months. I also use Rogaine for women once a day (the directions are to use it twice), and I take the Nature's Bounty Hair, Skin, and Nails gummy vitamins that have biotin. I've been using different hair-loss shampoos as well, Bosley Defense and Pronexa alternately. I thought the shotgun approach would be the best way to address the problem. I'm happy to say that my hair is regrowing beautifully. I'm no longer self conscious about my hair style. I have lots of new baby hair coming in, and it's my natural dark color, not white like a lot of my hair is. I give most of the credit to the iRestore helmet; I've tried Rogaine for women in the past with little result, but this time around my hair is really responding. I would highly recommend this product for women in my situation, I've told all my friends about the iRestore, and once I open the door to this conversation it turns out that every single one of my 50's and 60's-aged friends have noticed enough hair loss to raise concerns. The price seems a little high, but in my opinion it's a small price to pay for incredible hair regrowth as well as not having to see the doctor about it. The helmet is really easy to use. It's comfortable and the controller works great. I sit down and relax with a glass of wine and a book and I really look forward to those 25 minutes every other day! I like that you can pause the timer and get up and do something if you have to, then resume the timer when you can sit back down. I know everyone will probably have different results, but for me the iRestore is working beautifully and allowing me to regain the thick, luxurious head of hair I had when I was younger. I started out skeptical, but no longer. For me at least, this product was the magic bullet I was looking for! I purchased an iRestore Essential in early December of 2024 and used it precisely as prescribed for a year, before the lights no longer worked. With this product, please be aware some of the lights are only LEDs--not laser lights. I contacted iRestore and asked if my product might need a new power pack. They told me they would escalate my concern and I would be hearing from them within two days. I never heard from them. I contacted them again a week later, and this time they did contact me two days after I contacted them to let me know they had again escalated my request. After a week of no additional contact, I contacted them again, this time via the same representative who had sent me an e-mail. I never heard back from the representative. I rate their customer service as one star out of five. As for the product, before I started using it, I had a picture taken of my bald spot. After I began using iRestore, I had a picture of that same spot taken at the end of each month. At the end of the year, I compared all of the pictures. None showed a single new hair or any signs of stronger or fuller hair. It may be that for certain types of hair loss this product may work, but before you buy this, I highly recommend reading reviews on another site. What I found when I did that--foolishly after buying the product--that at a clip of about fifty to one, customers considered their iRestore device a scam. I appreciate the desire to do something about your hair loss, as doing something feels better than doing nothing, even if that something isn't working, but before you shell out a lot of money for a product that has only the smallest chance of working, I suggest a much cheaper option that has much greater chance of success. This is option is a combination of products--pumpkin seed oil, minoxidil, and microneedling (with at least 1.0mm needles). Research has shown the zinc, iron, magnesium and omega-6 fatty acids in the pumpkin seed oil can help with hair loss. Minoxidil has long been recommended for hair loss. Microneedling is a somewhat newer technique for hair loss but has consistently high reviews against a broad spectrum of neutral sites for working to regrow hair. Combined, these options provide an affordable and potentially effective solution for hair regrowth. iRestore will almost certainly not work for you, and it will do so at an exorbitant cost. Read more
I have been using the IRestore’s Essential for several weeks now. My hair is feeling thicker. The IRestore’s is very easy to use and takes just a short amount of your time. I also see a bit of baby hairs growing in my bald spots. I am taking a slew of vitamins and a DHT blocker, not sure if it’s the IRestore, the vitamins or a combination of both… but I do see signs of improvement!!! Read more
This is my initial review after purchasing the iRestore Essential. So far, the customer service from iRestore has been exemplary. Everyone I’ve interacted with has been responsive, supportive, and genuinely focused on helping me get the most out of the device. The build quality also stands out. The helmet feels sturdy, well-designed, and comfortable to wear, which gives me confidence in the overall product. It’s still too early for me to comment on hair regrowth results, but I wanted to highlight how positive my experience with their support team has been so far.
