This is a great set. The grip is nice and they're easy to adjust. Looking forward to using them for years! Update: Been using them for almost a year and everything works perfectly. I adjust them a couple of times a week and haven't had any issues, other than once accidentally overtightening one of them and having to use a hammer to loosen it. No chips or anything. They look almost new. If Amazon doesn't have them in one listing, hopefully they'll keep them somewhere else. After searching for a solid set of dumbbells I chose Ivanko. Much better made than anything I found in the big box stores. Solid 28 mm handles with excellent knurling. The collars are superior to the older style with single set screws. They have a compression ring that provides a firm grip around the circumference of the bar. The plates are smooth with machined holes that fit snugly on the bars. The gray hammer toned paint is very chip resistant. I feel the set will last as long as the Vintage York set they are replacing. The York set was purchased in 1964. Update 3/2025 I purchased another set for my daughter. She had dumbbells with threaded handles that would constantly come loose making them risky for overhead exercises. After trying my set she wanted a pair for herself. These dumbbells can easily be increased to 65 pounds by purchasing extra 10 pounds plates. Read more

I bought my 2 daughters each a set to use at their residences. At 22 1/2 lbs each maximum weight it’s a decent amount for them for a workout. Of course you can adjust the plates and get 8 different weight combinations which would require purchasing 16 dumbbells. That takes up a lot more space and costs more also. I also own Ivanko weights.The plates, solid steel bars and finishes and the collars are top quality. I bought these to use at home and they are excellent quality. The compression ring collars are very easy to adjust and very firm so that the weight plates don't move around. The customer service was also excellent when I had questions. I ordered extra weight plates along with the Ultimo set, and now I am going to order their Maximo set to have another set with different weights for different exercises. Read more
