This could be a really cute sweater, but it doesn't arrive the way it is shown in the pictures. The pictures clearly show bows tied on each side at the bottom of the sweater, but the sweater comes with ONE string just threaded through the holes in the edge of the sweater. How does one tie a pretty bow with two tails like the pictures show with only one end of a string? You can't. The sweater itself isn't bad. It is fairly thin, but would be fine over a blouse or thin fitted top. I got my regular size small and it was slightly oversized, but not overly so. I machine washed in cold water and tumbled dry on low and it came out just fine. I only gave it three stars because the advertising was deceptive and the bows are pretty much non-existent, so really I don't see me wearing this sweater. The only options are to tie a bigger bow using both strings, but that looks weird, or to remove the string entirely, which leaves big holes on the front of the sweater and that looks awful as well. I wouldn't recommend this sweater, especially at the $25 price point, which is high for the quality and practicality. Read more

A Cardigan with Charm, Almost? The Look That Caught My Eye This cardigan is lightweight, soft, and cute in concept. The design is an open front with wide ribbing and small V-shaped cutouts in open-knit details that give it breathability and texture. Running down the front is a blue cotton ribbon laced through about 1.5 inches apart, a detail that adds sweetness and a touch of whimsy. There are no buttons or closures, and that is part of its charm. It is meant to drape open, casual and effortless, like a cozy layering piece with a playful edge. The Fit That Taught Me a Lesson At 5'3" and 118 lbs, I sized up two times, and it was far too much. This piece runs true to size, and my extra sizing left me with something slouchy and oversized in a way that lost some of the intended shape. That said, it still has a place in my wardrobe as a lounge-at-home piece, and I will happily curl up in it with leggings and a book. The shoulders are drop-style with ribbed cuffs, the hem is ribbed, and the ribbing continues down and around the collar, tying the whole piece together visually. The Color That Works I ordered White, and the contrast of the light blue ribbon against the knit is charming. The combination feels fresh, feminine, and casual. It is soft to the eye, and the colors work beautifully together. Where It Fell Short Here is where I have to take one star away. The ribbon detail, which is a huge part of the appeal, did not come as advertised. The ribbon at the bottom continues down past the hem, leaving ties meant to be knotted into bows. On my cardigan, however, the ties are simply too short to make anything resembling the listing photo. I can make a tiny bow, but nothing with charm or presence. Since this ribbon bow is a central part of the design, that shortcoming is disappointing and a real miss. The Feel That Purrs On the positive side, the fabric feels nice. Lightweight, kitten-soft, and gentle enough for sensitive skin (waves furry paw). It is breathable, cozy, and easy to wear for two-three seasons, layering well without adding bulk. I washed it in my kitten VIP way, (see down below) and it came out beautifully, remained soft and wearable, which gives me hope for longevity. ---------------------------------------- Fabric Breakdown: The Simple Duo 98% Acrylic – The Cozy Player Acrylic keeps the knit soft, lightweight, and warm, adding that cozy factor while holding the ribbing. 2% Spandex – The Stretch Friend Spandex adds just enough stretch for movement and comfort, letting the cardigan flex without losing its shape. I gave her my kitten VIP wash: cold delicate cycle, a smidge of Woolite, a light tumble with low heat. The result was a cardigan that came out looking just as sweet as when it went in. The Style That Plays This cardigan is versatile in look, even if my bow detail let me down. Pair it with camisoles and jeans for casual chic, toss it over dresses for a touch of whimsy, or wear it with leggings and sneakers for errands. She has a sweet vibe that works in cafés, casual dates, or just lounging at home. In Closing This cardigan is soft, lightweight, and charming with its ribbon detail, though mine fell short with bows that do not tie as they should.
