I recently found out 'lantern pants' were a thing, and on a whim decided to try them because I have a thing I'm going to that is slightly dressier than just shorts, but I am not a skirt wearer. In the past I had tried wide leg ankle pants that don't taper, and they looked terrible. The little taper at the end of these really makes a huge difference. They look especially nice with a flat gladiator sandal that has some ankle straps. The gray is very nice, fabric is smooth and light but not sheer. I am 5'5" and 155lbs. I ordered a large and medium, and kept the medium. Medium for me has ample room all over, without being too bunchy. The elastic waist is quite tight (too tight, this is something I hope they change in the future), but bearable. The waist on the large felt marginally better, but the pants themselves had a much bunchier look which I didn't like. Read more

I'm 5'6", 105 lbs, purchased size Small PROS: Very nicely made. I love the fabric, LOVE the tapered leg with the horizontal seam that starts mid-calf - beautiful. Pockets feel really nice. Definitely a roomy, comfortable fit. Hem hits at my ankle which is just right. CONS: Very low crotch. I know that's the style, but I don't have much of a booty so I wasn't crazy about the droopy back; however, I washed these on gentle and dried them and they shrunk a bit so they fit better. Very high waistband (would probably be lower if I had a bigger booty!). Wish list: If I could redesign these I would make them available in XS, shorten the crotch, lower the waistband so it falls just below the belly button, and use less fabric for the legs, remove the flaps from the pockets. I know that sounds like a lot for giving them 4 stars but as they are, they look nice under a simple white linen tank top with slits on the side seams, and I I plan to wear the outfit to an outdoor wedding. I was so hoping these pants would work for me and in some ways they do. I am 5’1 with a bit of a pear shape. The length is good - to my ankles, However, the legs are wider than I thought they would be and so on me they looked a bit like harem pants. They are also extremely high waisted on me and the elastic in the waist is a little tight and so a little uncomfortable. I will say that the quality of the linen is very good. But because I wasn’t in the market for harem pants and because of the too high waist I am returning them. Read more

Wish I hadn't read all the positive reviews. This is NOT a flattering look. Pretty hideous silhouette to be honest. Doesn't help that the outside seam isn't sewn right on one leg, so not only do they have this weird,, baggy kneed, Alladin look, but there's an obvious pointy spot on one leg where the top part of the pant leg meets the horizontal section at the bottom of the leg. Not good. Since I sew, I took the legs in for a narrower, relaxed look, but at $40, I'd hoped for better. I'd return them, but most of the white pants on this site take weeks to arrive, and summer will be over by then. Only thing positive I can share about these pants is the nice, lightweight linen fabric. Yes, the pockets show through, it's that light, but it is a nice, true linen fabric. The rest...yeah...can't recommend. Unless you like this baggy shape. Be sure to look at the second picture down for a realistic depiction. If you like that look, then you'll like these pants. I buy new pairs, always in black and grey, at least once a year, just to have in my closet as the old ones begin to fade. I love them as kick-around pants but they look great if I dress them up, too. Super comfortable, easy to wash and line dry and the price point is great to just quickly order another pair if something happens. I hope IXIMO carries continues to carry these! Read more
