I ordered these boots in the denim blue color because I own similar boots and a dark tan or medium brown color and enjoy those, and since I really love denim, I decided this color was a must have for my collection! Since I do own similar boots, I kind of knew what I was getting into in terms of quality. This faux leather is clearly faux on close inspection, and can't decide if it wants to mimic suede or leather. It's sort of in between. However, as an economical boot, they look good enough to ensure that I will get an adequate amount of use from them in terms of style. In terms of fit, I feel they run a bit large. A size 8 is typical for me and what I ordered. I find that even though I have a wide toe area - a wider one than it should be compared to the rest of my foot, These boots still felt a little roomy in the toe area. They are not too big in any other aspect, so I found that wearing thicker socks or thick "boot socks" was the answer to both the fit and comfort inside the boot generally. These are not made with soft insoles, so having a thicker sock is really a good thing in my case. These will function great for the occasional outing when I am trying to match my boots to my outfit. That may be fairly often given that I do wear a whole lot of denim in a whole lot of blue on a regular basis. With the construction of these boots, admittedly, that may only allow for one or two seasons of use before they wear out. I can see no visible signs of problems in the making of these boots; however, call it instinct, but I do believe that we are getting what we pay for in terms of value here. I'm not mad at the price, because high-end boots like this would cost a fortune, so this makes style a little more affordable. I have read some reviews that complain about the inside of the boot cutting into or chafing the area above the ankle. I don't plan to wear these boots against my bare skin - or even without pants tucked inside, so this isn't something that concerned me, but close inspection of the inside of the boots did not reveal anything with my pair that could cause that sort of problem (But there is an exposed seam in the upper ankle area of these boots that, if different thread were used, might be an irritant). I don't think this should be a major concern for folks planning to wear them on the outside of jeans or pants. The color is my favorite thing about them! It meant expectations pretty much exactly. I think the design on the boots is really cool and may even be my favorite thing about them. I wish the heel height were maybe slightly lower, but that's only because I have trouble walking in higher heels these days. These don't qualify as high heels, but they're not exactly low either. They're somewhere in between... But that little peccadillo is mine alone. Should you have a similar concern, consider this before your purchase. Overall, they are a stylish pair of economical boots.
