Even as a bass player, this variety pack was a great experience. While most of the picks are more geared toward guitarists, I ended up discovering that I really like the Jazz XL shape and the Ultex material. They have a great point and shape that offer a lot of accuracy and control, and they’ve actually made alternate picking a breeze for me. I’m not usually a pick player, but this pack changed that, and I ended up finding my go-to pick: the Jazz XL Ultex. I’ve even upgraded to the Jazz XL Primetone thanks to this variety. Overall, a fantastic sampler that led me to my new favorite! Read more

I used Fender Mediums for years, but while working to increase my speed and accuracy, I wanted to try some other picks. This variety pack is a great way to do that. I bought this first. Tried out all of the picks and decided on using the Ultex Jazz III going forward. You get one of those here and one Ultex Jazz III XL size here, too. This is a great way to explore and find what works for you. Read more

Just what I was looking for. This variety pack of jazz picks includes different sizes and materials for you to see what works best for you. It doesn't include the max grip and a couple more. However, it'll get you started and give an idea where to go next. I like the ultex standard size. The material works great for my dry skin and it stays steady while strumming. The raised letters provide enough grip and are easier to hold on to than the standard pick max grips (for me, anyway). If you're thinking about trying jazz picks, get this set and have at it. Awesome shape and material, but they still leave this annoying sharp bit on the back of the pick every time. It’s 2025. Can we find a way to get rid of those without making nerds sand them off themselves at home? I try not to be too fussy because these are still the best picks for shreddin but it’s a really intimate relationship we have with these things. I’m holding it in my hand while I barrel down the shredding superhighway at 3,000 mph. I don’t want something sharp right up against my sensitive lil thumbkin. Come on man, help me out. Sure I can sand it down or cut it clean with razor. But these are already too expensive. Minus 1 star until yall can make em silky smooth all around baby! Read more

I’ve been playing medium Fenders, Tortex, and Ernie Balls for years. On Strat and Telecaster. Didn’t think picks made a ton of difference. Man, these are worth a try. To use a Golf analogy for those familiar…These are like the bladed irons of guitar picks. I think they can make you better, but you have to know how to use them and you have to be fairly skilled. They are much smaller than a standard pick. The smaller dimension and beefy thickness are unique. Each pick in this pack will make your guitar sound different. It’s really quite amazing. I still rotate between these and regular mediums, however, I can certainly see why the jazz iii is popular with skilled players. Read more

One of the best packs I’ve ever had, they look good, my favorite is the one that looks like a flake of dead skin. They’re very stiff, great for bluegrass Read more
