While I can happily report that I have no first-hand experience in using one of these blankets to put out a fire, I have no problem trusting they will do the job properly if called upon to put out a stovetop fire. Reading the product specs, the blanket seems like top-quality and the holder pack is well-designed, making it easy to access the blanket quickly. The five-pack of blankets was just the right number to supply our kitchen and the kitchens of our family members, so each household received a blanket at Christmas, and it's probably the most useful gift any of us have received in a long time. I'll even go so far as saying, a fire blanket is essential for any kitchen, especially, if like us, you don't have a fire extinguisher. I like the idea of this blanket, because I have no doubt that if (heaven forbid) we have a fire, I would lose precious time trying to remember how to use an extinguisher. I've used the included adhesive hook for our blanket, and it appears sturdy enough to withstand it if I do have to yank the blanket out of the holder. But you can always hang the blanket on a screw-in hook or nail for extra assurance. Read more

Haven't had to use these yet- but i run two lasers at work and have them close. Would rather use a blanket than spray down my laser with chemical. Installed a one at home as well in the kitchen. Everything came with them, gloves for each blanket and a hook. easy to install and gives peace of mind that I can easily smother a fire, versus clean up a extinguisher mess. I have both at my disposal just in case- but i have cleaned a fire extinguisher mess and don't want a repeat. Read more

Obviously I haven't tried them yet, and hopefully won't ever have a need to, but I bought a set of two. Put one in my kitchen, next to the fire extinguisher, and one on the bedroom door. My only complaint would be that you need to keep the gloves near the blankets, but there's no way to hang them. I sewed each pair of gloves together, leaving a loop in back, and hung them that way. This way they're easy to yank down (and apart), but I can still hang them with the blankets. Read more

TWICE last year when visiting others for a cookout, the outdoor grills being used caught on fire. One started flaming so high I thought the person's porch ceiling was going catch on fire. Then I came across the videos for these fire blankets on youtube and TV commercials. I gave everyone sets of them for Christmas, and have three of them around our house. They are handier and easier to use than a fire extinguisher and make much less of a mess, plus spray no harmful chemicals. Read more

I waited on buying these because the “branded” ones were so expensive and I wasn’t sure how the others, like these more affordable versions, would work. Finally, prime day in Oct, I pulled the trigger and bought the 10 pack. Kept two for myself and gave the rest to family. Today, we used two. One of them was used twice. First we put out the toaster fire inside the house. There were flames and it was in an area under the cupboard that wasn’t easy to get to so I just threw it at the fire and it went out. Then, 25 minutes later the toaster caught our hoses and hose storage on fire right outside our home. We use the kitchen one again, and I ran to get the upstairs one. I pulled so damn hard in that and had so much adrenaline but the hook held, the bag opened right up and out came the blanket in one smooth action. I have no idea how the bag stay on the wall. I had a teeny fire extinguisher and ripped two nails out of the wall before I ran to get the upstairs blanket. So, I just bought two more 10 packs. I am sitting here with a hose and watching this smoldering pile of rubber and plastic and thinking about every thing that could have happened and everything we could have lost….. If you’re worried these won’t work, they will. Or they did for us on two different fires. If you think you’ll wait for a sale, don’t wait! I paid the same amount today as I did on prime day. Spend the money— it could save your home or your life. If you see the pictures you will see the reason we needed the second blanket was bc the second fire was outside and was so big it brought 3 neighbors before we even know it was occurring and the first blanket knocked it down taking the massive risk of fire away from our house the second one and the fire extinguisher were just used until we could get water and get it moved away form the house and trees and piles and piles of dried leaves. No I didn’t use the gloves, in fact I gave them away bc I knew I would never stop to put them on. The hooks are awesome and make yanking this the two straps to get the blanket out easy. $45 for 10 of these is nothing! The first fire we put cost more in damage to our appliance before this blanket put it out and saved the rest of the house! No mess! I hope I never have to use it again but I hope this review can help someone else make the decision to get them sooner than I did! I am so thankful I got them last month! Read more

I have given these a five star review even though I haven't had to use them yet. Five stars for peace of mind! I know they work as I've seen them demonstrated. One never knows when there may be a fire especially in the kitchen when cooking, or an electrical fault. The two pack is especially useful. They are good value for money and are easy to use - just throw them on the flames and they will extinguish them immediately. You can't beat peace of mind and being prepared. I plan to buy more.
