I ordered this when the little $1 equivalent from WalMart disappeared. They stopped stocking them so I turned to Amazon and found this. Higher price point, but this tool is great. I'm a serious foodie & baker and kitchen tools are great, but space is a bit limited for me. When I buy tools or appliances, I like them to be multifunctional or at least... occupy less space. This is both. I zest citrus easily with this, and nutmeg or other hard spices, and use it "mince" garlic. I love fresh garlic and prefer smaller pieces for most dishes for easier distribution throughout the dish. This nails that need too. I was at a total loss without this small grater. Just buy it - it pulls its weight plus some. Especially if you're not constantly shredding blocks of cheese with it. But, for the record - I did use this to also finely shred cheese for lasagna. Cleaning this tool is no more difficult than other graters. No issues at all for me with rusting or breaking. Had it for months now. Read more

Really small and adorable - I got lucky and was sent a red one. Grates as expected so it's not necessary to drag out full size grater just to grate some onion for a recipe. Happy with purchase. Read more

I ordered three based my previous experience with them. They grate hard boiled eggs, pickles, olives, celery, etc very efficiently because they grate in both directions. They do not rust and they stay sharp. I have broken one of them at the bottom of the handle (as others have reported) because I put the end of the grater on the cutting board and applied too much pressure to the middle of the grater. To me, this was my problem and an easy fix. I keep the end of the grater off of the cutting board. Read more
