First, the blade is warped (or just bent). Second, the stag handle is over-sanded, and the coarse sharp edge of the tang is protruding. (I could accept the over-sanded handle, if they smoothed out the protruding tang. But the coarse edge of the tang makes it look like they didn't even care.) The blade is made of Bohler N695 which is a fancy name for 440C. (Not to be confused with the superior N690.) It is a good steel, but it's not a $240 good! At this price, this knife is competing with Cold Steel Trail Master made from SAN MAI, or even the CPM 3V, if you search for a good deal. Well, maybe Joker just heat treats their steel very well? Honestly, I doubt, because if the knife exhibits poor craftsmanship on the outside, chances are the heat treatment was done just as poorly. On the plus side, the knife is beautiful if you do not examine it too closely. I would also say that the design is good. I like the blade profile, and the balance in the hand. However, because of the above craftsmanship problems I find the product as a whole unacceptable. The knife does feel solid, and it will certainly function as a knife. So it does deserve the three stars. But I can't give it anything more than those three stars. Read more

The knife came sharp out of the box. The grinds are even. Fit and finish are excellent. The tang stands just slightly proud of the antler scales, but not enough to feel unless you are looking for it. The saber grind is a step up from the hollow grind on most of the Spanish Bowie knives I’ve seen. The knife feels solid in the hand and feels like it can take a beating.
