That leaves me in a dead zone when an item’s available in only S, M, L and XL, like most swimsuits tend to run. I was tickled to discover that this Jolefille swimsuit is an exception. I’m nearly 5’ 9” tall with a long torso, so a one-piece suit is typically a too-tight fit no matter what size I choose. But this suit in size L is perfect. How sweet it is that I can trust the size chart. And it’s so darn cute! I chose the Yellow option, which has bursts of yellow, orange and periwinkle flowers on a cream background, with some green leaves sprinkled throughout. It feels both young-at-heart and a stylish but playful suit for women who prefer something with a bit less overexposure than a bikini. When I go to the beach or pool, I want a suit that’s more about fit and fun and less about flaunting. This one successfully balances the scales. Best example of that is the golden U-wire that ties the bra portion together, which manages to create a neckline that’s decorous but also a bit cheeky. I can definitely see how this suit meets the definition of a shapewear swimsuit. The cut and design feel flattering, and the slimming features really do provide “tummy control.” (Translation: It minimizes belly fat.) Comfort’s important to me, too. I appreciate this suit’s no-underwire design and the cushy removable pads that provide totally discreet coverage. The wide adjustable shoulder straps and criss-cross back ties are soft, stretchable and comfy to assure an indidualized fit.
